way to miss the point. the point being made was members have no say and influence nothing.
surely there is revues by independent parties on everything we do.
so peggys advice is good recruiting is great list management superb and hardwick is the man for the job.it seems its a sin to ask who gave you this advice peggy.

the only timne i can think of where members forced the clubs hand was whem michael pahoff got the numbers and forced an egm. thank Geez he did so i say 5.5 million in debt and spiralling out of control and the board satisfied with the advice it got.
how quickly we forget eh.

What are talking about?

There was never ever an EGM because Mr Parhoff didn't submit his petition.

We had an election but there was no EGM. Don't put him up on a pedestal.

But don't let any facts get in the way of what actually happened

yep, it's amazing how quickly we forget things that never actually happened.
lmao.

now, if your gripe is the members not utilising their powers, whose fault it that?

Those that are full of pee and wind but no action?

annnd, i didnt miss the point at all. Members do not, nor should they, have any say in the day to day running of the club. They do have the power to hole those that appoint the people that do, just like every other similar organisation in the world.

Nor are your ways my ways,” says the Lord.

So are my ways higher than your ways,
And my thoughts than your thoughts."

fair enough he may not have forced a egm but he sure as hell shook em up and we did get an election with a new alternative ticket as an option.
it is the only instance that i can think of where supporters or a supporter has  influenced the board. good on him i say.

unless your have power or money us ordinary people have little or no chance of either influencing the club or getting elected. yep we get lip service a token gesture of gratitude to ensure we by a membership.
the only real way i have of voicing my displeasure at the club is to stop buying memberships and making donations. which i have duly done.

there is no checks and balances on the workings of the board or the footy dept. one way of haveing them accountable is by having independent revues  look at there performance and results every3 or  4 yrs or so.

i rememberr well the abuse pahoff copped from ordinary supporters when he showed the balls and voiced his displeasure about what was going on. i remember well the threats and the diabolical way the club treated him why anyone would want to put themselves thru that is beyond me.
most of you  sat back lambasted him and  were quite prepared to sit back do nothing and watch the club go down the financial gurgler. 5.5 mil in debt and hardly a squeak until pahoff forced people to pay attention .

lol im yet to see you grasp the point of any discussion on these boards . you are either just plain disingenuous or plain old stupid im still working out which one. and yes you totally missed the point again.
why am i not surprised..

Members have influenced things at Richmond in the past. Not anymore I would hope but certain people did years ago.

WHat a disgrace this club was. And probably still is

;D

ive pretty much ignored al for months now and am happy to leave it that way.  some times he does deserve an appropriate repy  i think this is one of those instances.

Hmm, now lets review,

As with any organisation that has a board structure, the day to day decisions are made by the board and those they appoint. These are the people entrusted by the members/shareholders to run the show, and they are then held to account by the members/shareholders.

Personally don't see how the change of President is a catalyst for this disgrace.

The issue is our pre season regime, fitness, list management and game plan.
Go Tigers!

Jack did you seriously expect her to engage in a discussion on the future of the club with you outside the ground................surely not

Speaking of Presidents.
Clinton Casey was sitting in the Members in the Olympic.
Was grinning throughout the whole game. Didn't even have a RFC tie on.
the only thing he wasn't doing was jumping up and down during the last stanza.
Seemed very happy with proceedings.

Well she did to my surprise
Port Adelaide got put back on track by a good president who had a plan and lifted the core values of the club
