In 1964 after a long hiatus and a poor period in our clubs history the club appointed Ray Dunn to be President. He was the greatest President in our clubs history, a tough hard nosed lawyer who took no prisoners and made things happen. Richmond needs to find a President like this. I think we should give Peggy a go but she needs to show some leadership here and some tough leadership. She needs to take control of the club by the scruf of the neck if she has too and make it known to all and sundry that capitulation and incompetence wont be tolerated. She needs to take a bigger role in overseeing the day to day administration of the club because things are not as rosy as they seem. 3-0-75 is a failed plan where the aims were not achieved by a long long way, spending massive money in salaries on Chaplin, Hampson, Grigg and co. is a failure and so is the recruiting philosophy behind it, the teams performance is dismal, the coach seems to be struggling and the members are red hot with disgust. Peggy needs to do a Dunn, she needs to take strict control of that rabble down at Punt Road and start clearing the joint of the no hopers and the do gooders who are parading around as AFL experts and who have wrecked our club. She needs to have a full reveiw of everyone in the club from senior executives down. Dunn would never have stood for mediocrity. When Dunn and Graham Richmond were recruiting the likes of Hart and Bartlett and Green they were aggressive, tough ruthless negotiators, that today we see recruiting the likes of Hampson and Chaplin and Grigg and the rest as a success is a blight on us all. We want Ruthless Winners at Richmond not paid individuals who are just happy to collect there weekly pay cheque and who dont give a stuff about the club. It doesnt matter if there was free agency then and a draft now. We need people who can get the best results. Not people who are happy to be 16th on the ladder.
