How are we getting Fyfe AND keeping a top 3 pick?

I heard them discussing Cox on SEN this morning, coincidently he was head to punt rd for a tour. But before anyone gets excited he will also tour westpac centre, arden st and waverley park as those clubs are also keen.
Would be a recruiting coup if we could snag him as he would be an international rookie

Fyfe, well need to pay tge big bucks to get a big name.
Pick 3? Cos were so out of form, both parties would lose an intra club if we had one today  :-\

I meant we'd have to give pick 3 up to get Fyfe.

Collingwood or Hawthorn will get the Seppo, we're no chance.

Maybe. Or we could get creative. Give em Ellis and pick 20. Or maybe Rance is homesick  :whistle

Fyfe is the type of star player we should target but we wont get him

1) coz we arent smart enough
2) because of list managers preference to keep duds on the list (primarily those brought in by Hartley) who are all on decent coin
3) because of No 2 we wont have enough salary cap space

As for trading Rance. I wouldnt trade Rance. He's a Richmond player through and through and at least  he plays his heart out for the Tigers. Cant say the same for a number of his teammates.

If Dustin Martin played to his potential I feel we don't need Fyfe. We need to develop our midfield and whole team for that matter. I am a massive fan of Fyfe but there is no reason why we can't develop Martin, Ellis, and Conca to support Lids and Cotchin.

That being said if we could get Fyfe without sacrificing a 1st round pick or players which are critical for our structure (Riewoldt and Rance for example) then by all means go for him.

there is no real way of getting a Fyfe without coughing up our expected early pick.

Seeing the entire Rance clan reside in Melbourne these and have done since he was drafted, I doubt very much he'd be homesick

But would certainly look at Fyfe, would trade our 1st round pick (if it's higher than say 5) and a player eg Ellis for him
