What this club needs
« on: June 05, 2014, 09:35:14 PM »
Is a strong coach, a strong character. Someone who will walk into the 2016 job interview and say "you blokes are a pack of stuffwits, just give me the job because I'm going to turn this club around". Coaches like Hinkley or even Buckley who are strong in their beliefs !

None of this "in a funny sort of way we are sort of improving funnily enough in a funny sort of way".

Pack of spankers at Punt Road I am telling you !

You're right Dr. Phil, that is exactly what we need. Who will it be though?
I don't see this kind of coach waiting in the wings.

Dimma has a big part to play in this year's decline but I think it is more to do with his inability to change or create a game plan to combat the oppositions tactics. Dimma is hard enough but his inexperience and reliance upon the game plan he helped create at Hawthorn is his current downfall.

Rather than find a hard nut coach I would rather a coach who is a strategist and can adapt during a game. Dimma has been a fantastic teacher and development coach for our younger players and list but now we need him to develop a new game plan and find the players who can best execute that game plan or he needs to move on.

I don't think it is as simple as getting a new coach. It is more about finding the players and leaders in your squad who demand success regardless of who is at the helm.

While Iagree with sstripes

I also bbelieve the faith in the like of grigg. Chaplin. Houli. King. Hampson. Has played a major part in his downfall. It's not soul fault of dimma. But his refusal to drop his favorite's has hurt the club

IMO

Its not as simple as a new coach. But its a bit step in the right direction

That's why its so hard to find a great coach. Wallace worked well with a more experienced group in WB when he took over them but was useless with us because he didn't know how to develop youth or keep it simple. The ability to adapt and think outside the square is what makes a great coach rather than a good one imo.

The club needs a complete unbiased review of the entire football dept, its out of control.

I would like to see Cameron Ling as an assistant coach at the club.

There has to be someone out there, doesn't there? Doesn't there?? Gotta be someone. Even Aryes. Coached Port Melbourne to how many flags? Coached AFL sides to finals consistently including a couple of GF appearances. Not saying he is who I want but he'd be a damn sight better than the clown we have at the present.

Rather see Knights than Hardwick. At least Houli would be playing twos :lol

To simplify it, the club needs a coach with true people skills.

A man who knows how to manage individuals in such a way that they'll respond to the best of their natural ability.

Instead, we have an ex essendon, unaccountable, silent egomaniac who's only tactic is to impose HIS will on the playing group.
His belief he had a better side than last year is testament to the above accusations.
He's a corporate robot whose time HAS to end.

It's unfathomable that the players would ask him to be harder on them.
It's stuffing unheard of.
That alone tells fans and members he has completely lost the list.

Jacks media tirade of the "tweeked" gameplan, another.

Hardwick should take a long look at himself....and then pull the trigger.

Is a successful List Manager who knows how to build a successful team list not bring in the hacks and rejects from other clubs but to get in some big name players who will through the force of their own personality bring cultural change to Richmond.
