We just had no confidence in our forwards marking or at least contesting the footy after quarter-time. A number of our blokes tried to evade opponents to run and bypass the extra men in defence the Saints had. That's why Deledio went for the torp a few times. The one that Hilton marked would not have carried over the Saints defence to Rory with a normal drop punt.

The Saints kept a couple of players free a kick behind the play and then stacked the defensive side of stoppages. They would then charge at us in waves at the contest so we either got a quick kick under pressure forward that would be cleaned up by these loose defenders or we just lose out at the contest due to lack of numbers. We didn't have anyting to counter their tactics as our most of our guys went missing. To beat St Kilda you have to play man on man IMHO.

The lack of running hard into space and presenting from us yesterday was summed up when Newman collected the ball in our backline and had to keep running as when he looked up the ground there was no one to pass to. Our guys instead were running away from him  ???. So he kept running further. Still nobody. He again kept running closer and loser towards the boundary line. Still nobody. If you watch the replay on the tv you can see him swear asking where the #$@% is someone. So at the end all he could do was play safe and kick up to the wing near the boundary.

I saw that one about newmo MT. The pained expression on his face said it all. He even signalled to players to get into some bloody space so he could deliver.

And here I was thinking that I was the only one getting frustrated and annoyed about it :(

I reckon when you are getting beated it lokks worse but I know after finally getting around to watching the replay of the Essendon game on Friday night that it happened last week as well. I counted at least 3 times were it resulted in a turnover >:( As I said when you're winning it doesn't hurt you as much but it certainly hurt against the Saints

Another one was when Graham punched the ball away when he should have marked - looked around to Joel Bowden and Chris Newman and said "talk to me let me know I was clear".

When things fall apart there is no talk out there at all :help :banghead

I remember the Graham one too. A female tiger supporter behind me yelled out "mark the @#$%ing thing"  :thumbsup.

How many of our blokes got run down from behind and caught holding the ball :scream. IIRC one was Thirsty running off half back with Bowden along side and Krakouer nearby but no one told him he was hot  :banghead.
