Good luck to him. Deserves success, not embarrassment.

Screw that. Get some better players around him FFS.

Under the Hackson/Hartley/Hardwick regime? Not likely.

Furthermore, stuffstick is contracted for 2 more years and Cotch only for one

Yeah but that was Cotchin's choice Ox.

They offered him 4-5 years and he decided on 2 because he wanted to back himself to improve more (aka position for more $$) due to FA

So does this mean we are going to have the "Cotchin Contract Sweepstakes" for the next 18 months like we did Lids and Dusty the last couple of seasons  ;D

Why would he want to stay and work for an embarrassing organisation.

Have said this next year is going to get a whole lot worse

Cotchin Dusty will hold off talks combined with early losses, and the RFC will self destruct as we know it to do

Currently a member of the Roupies, and employed by the great man Roup.

Hawks dial up Trent Cotchin
Joshua Papanikolaou
SEN
25-6-2014

Hawthorn vice-captain Jordan Lewis is not surprised his club has reportedly made an approach to Tigers captain Trent Cotchin given the greater options available to players in the era of free agency.

The Hawks are said to have made an inquiry with Cotchin’s management since the 24 year-old becomes a free agent at the end of next year.

Lewis has said on Fox Sports that all clubs are planning for the future behind closed doors and admitted it would be irresponsible of a club not to explore any possible signings.

“Because I think the landscape now is that these players are going to be targeted from other clubs, especially the good clubs.

“It’s funny how these stories get out, whether they’re true or not I’m not too sure.

“I think any player that comes out of contract in this free agency thing that we’re going to have to deal with it would be remiss of a club not to ask.”

The way this whole saga has dragged on it seems so hollow.

Only at Richmond.
Professional organisations take into account the fact he was at the RFC and have the structure to heal

FA is a joke!
Surely it wasn't designed for 24/25 year olds to be able to move around this easy. Clubs put so much into these kids just to see them hold them to ransom the minute they can.
It should be designed for the 28/29 year olds (10 years of service to a club) at the end of their careers to move on either to maybe play in a premiership or to get better opportunities if not quite getting a regular game for their current club..
All it's doing is driving up prices of players in the middle of their careers.
Trent Cotchin should not have the right to move on at the end of next year, unless it's through a trade and the club has some say in what it gets in return.
AFL have f?$ked this up!

It was the AFL players association that wanted it.
