Collingwood president Eddie McGuire has demanded his club be compensated for hundreds of thousands of dollars in lost revenue as a result of Sunday night’s disastrous MCG crowd.
Just 40,936 showed up to the clash between traditional rivals Collingwood and Carlton - the fourth lowest in games between these two sides at the MCG and the lowest since 1921.
McGuire acknowledged that the 7.10pm game had been pegged as an experiment ahead of the next round of television rights negotiations, but said he was sick and tired of his club being used as the AFL’s test bunnies.
