It would be nice if someone from the press had the balls to ask Hardwick what exactly Hampson did to earn his recall, at the next press conference.

Yep, though I doubt Hampson will play. Think the ins will only be Vlastuin & Thomas

but at around 5pm this arvo we will know one way or another  :P
Doesn't matter if he plays or not, he has been named in the squad, and on the back of what?
BJs?
shared home videos?
wife swapping?

It's one thing to keep repeating the mantra of having to earn a spot in regards to those not already in the side, while keeping under performing players in the team,
but to then name a player who spent one week and did nothing at the lower level, and has not ever performed at AFL level for us, takes it to another level of stuffed upness.

It's simply mind boggling and trying to work it out makes trying to comprehend quantum physics seem on par with reading Dick and Dora
Maybe there is an injury concern with one of our talls but regardless I would rather a second-hand point post comes into the team, would have more impact.

while Hampson was hardly mentioned, stephenson was named in the best . Theres your performance based ruck replacement,
Mcbean kicked 5 so there's your performance based forward replacement,
“For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways my ways,” says the Lord.

“For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
So are my ways higher than your ways,
And my thoughts than your thoughts."

I actually agree with you al 100% and then throw in another 100+% for good measure

But I am now at the stage that I just don't care anymore, the spin has seen to that.

"We don't gift games anymore", "you've got to earn your spot" BLAH BLAH and BLOODY BLAH

All that's happened this year at the selection table is they have proved beyond any doubt that they are dishonest and think we the members & supporters are mugs

So as I said I don't care, the match committee can keep playing favourites, they can keep picking blokes who don't warrant it and I'll just go to the footy to catch up with friends.

Then come Sept/Oct when it's renewal time I get my chance if I chose to treat them the same way they've treated all us and that's with disdain

Had to front up a list of an extended bench so I don't buy to much into it. Completely ignoring who has been dropped I don't think you can be too upset about the ins (now that they've been finalized)

Was Hardwick and his cronies as bad at match committee last year and we just didn't mind because we were winning?
This week was a perfect time to play McBeen, they are a few big bodied defenders down so Liam would have had a 'second tier' defender but with quality player around them. Giving him a pretty good first game experience. But we decide to play Lloyd who I don't mind but....
I know we all on hear don't agree on player A or B but most would agree that McBeen should have been given a go after a really good first year last year and some encouraging form this year and 5 snags last week. The season is over for Gods sake!
Not even sure I'm going to bother going on Sunday.
Anyway, plop, plop, plop!

Not upset about the final ins, but all the blokes are named for done so for a reason. Often we have seen kids named as emergency when they are close to selection.
Although he wasnt eventually named, the fact that Hampson was even in the mix, given the amount of times we have had "have to earn your spot " trotted out is simply bewildering. The message being sent is he is close to selection, while for others who have performed better, the message is, Hampson is closer to playing than you, even though he is a retread.

Nor are your ways my ways,” says the Lord.

I think MT best summed it up when he suggested that the match committee were trolling us.
Most plausible explanation.
It's that simple Spud
"I discussed (it) with my three daughters, my wife and my 82-year-old mum, because it has really affected me … If those comments … were made about one of my daughters, it would make the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. I would not have liked it at all.”

I suppose based on experience you would go Lloyd as a sub. Who ever they're going to put on Wingard is going to get pantsed this weekend
