what a hide this club has.
have been asked to take out a membership and the money will go to the allanah and madelaine  foundation.

stuff the club i havent taken out a membership as a protest and i wont be taking one out until they actually address the real issues at the club.
what i want to know????  is there an appeal where i can donate money to alannah and madelaine without taking out a membership?????.  what a low act,  boost membership and make things look good on the back of something like this.
why not set up a foundation where anyone can donate without having to be linked to that rabble.

Last year the was marketed as the FTF (Fighting Tiger Fund).

This year given the supporter backlash and vitriol based on results this has been marketed as
the DFD fund. Dollars for Donuts fund. You pay dollars and we give you donuts.

No Krispy Kremes, not Donut King, not even the frosted or cinnamon ones you get from Coles or Woolies. Donuts is just a metaphor for nothing.

Yes, that is correct, Jang Jang.

The point being made is it is a little tacky to use donating to a charity to boost your membership numbers.

Answer is yes, you can donate the AMF anytime you like.

This the link to their website

http://www.amf.org.au

At the top of the page there is a donate button, click on there and you get to the donations page.

And FWIW I reckon it's a good initiative by the club. The money is going to an important charity and that's a good thing IMHO

And you might also find that it's been introduced due to feedback the clubs got from members who reckon the club should promote and support The AMF more than what they already do.

thank you wp there will be a donation going there.
as TBR says i find it tacky that such a scheme can be used to promote memberships.  maybe there has been just too much spin and rubbish come out that club recently and its affected my perception of what they are trying to do. but even when i put my angst aside i hate the idea of a charity donation being linked to club membership. surely we can be more professional and show more integrity than that. i dunno maybe im just too negative at times.

I like it. You get a little something for donating no harm in that. Reckon people are just angry at the club (rightfully so) and are just seeing red every time RFC says or does anything. Would be nice if they maybe plugged the donation option on their site for those over the top angry people that refuse to be associated with the club or those who maybe want to only donate 10-20 dollars.

A little tacky, all the funds go to the charity, they're using it as a lever to attract people to donate that's the motive not damned membership numbers , fair dinkum get with the program . Tbh I'm not a great fan, I support our alignment with the charity however it should be isolated to one round per season and they can go for it. Beyond that , I personally don't see the relevance and it begins to cloud peoples interests. Fans would be more interested to hear about a new bullseye kick straight academy or a sixth sense recruiters seminar.  My advice to the club is isolate this to one round per season , then get back to basics

Chicken and Egg.  Are they using charity to sell memberships or memberships to sell charity.

I think Claw makes a pretty simple and fair point here and I think the charity angle might emotionally blackmail some people into buying memberships.  Given the clubs performance this year, its a pretty nasty hook.

If the tigers want to support charity, they can do a bit of media, maybe have a match based around it, promote it on their website, lend a couple of players.  Linking it to membership is a step too far imo.

As far as I'm concerned, buying a Richmond membership is charity enough.  Its a huge waste of money every year.

Would people still be annoyed if they said the membership didn't count to their membership numbers?
