Daniel Jackson??
« on: August 03, 2005, 03:37:20 PM »
Just wondering what has happened to Jacko.  Thought that last year and during pre-season he was being earmarked for a medium-sized defensive role, however has been playing in the midfield at Coburg.  Where is his best postition, i would think he is a better defender then a midfielder/wingman

Welcome to OER Deledio_3  :thumbsup

Daniel Jackson is an interesting one because I reckon he could play either position with my own preference being as a running half back flanker.

IMO he has good pace and is a long kick and could give us a lot of run from the back half, hence my view like yours he would be better off the HBF

IIRC the coaches decided to see how he would go in the mid-field during the pre-season (he did play there against the Lions) and because of his pace they've tried to develop him there. At Coburg it seems to be working well but from the Burger games I've seen he is playing the role of mid-fielder going back rather than a mid-fielder playing mainly forward of centre.

The one problem I reckon he has is his disposal. His field kicking lets him down but having said that I have noticed an improvement there in recent weeks at Coburg.

David Flood in his EOTT Coburg wrap reckons Jackson is close to senior selection.
