Ah the edit.
I think some of what WAT posts makes sense, it would be good to stitch up Rance, Martin and Cotchin first before turning our attention to out of contract or free agency.
Seems obvious I know but I'd like to understand WATs basis for saying we will stuff it up? Not sure we've lost too many players of any note over the years.

matty white, schulz for farmer, ottens for meyer and patterson as a start.

Currently a member of the Roupies, and employed by the great man Roup.

As much as I hate to say it, having a 'war chest' for 2014, not using it and holding off for 2015, then having a putrid year which sees the coach sacked and a new coach coming in who rebuilds and has no use for a free agent would be very Richmond.
Who isn't a fan of the thinking man's orange Tim Fleming?

But you see, it's not me, it's not my family.
In your head, in your head they are fighting,
With their tanks and their bombs,
And their bombs and their guns.
In your head, in your head, they are crying...

That and keeping players like Batch, Grigg, Dae, Edwards (sorry but two good years does not suffice), Newman (great club man but should of retired), and Morris. Additionally, we keep these players and we don't even look at or try to get players that have moved around during the trade and FA period. It just bewilders me that the club can rest on the players I have mentioned thinking they are the answer...?? Its just very frustrating watching this year after year.. :-\

I think we should of pursued Greenwood more, so what if hes played 50 games, those 50 games were better than the games the above players have played. We just seem content to hang on to players that make monumental game turning mistakes every week. If its not one making the mistakes its the other...
DIMMA - You will be held ACCOUNTABLE...

“We are really excited about what we have brought in. We have got great depth of players that can take us where we need to go. We are just putting some cream on the top at the moment,” he said.

Any chance you could name some of those game turning mistakes made in the last eleven weeks of the H&A season

11 weeks, is that what you want to talk about, how about you talk about their impact or lack of over the years. In the past 11 weeks of the season though those players did not shine, or star at any level, go watch the replays.

With the exception of Ottens which was 10 years ago, how can you compare those other players to our best few players?
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

Herald-Sun's top 10 targets in next year's trade/FA period:

1. Jeremy Cameron (GWS) -  out of contract
2. Patrick Dangerfield (Adel) - free agent
3. Adam Treloar (GWS) - out of contract
4. Rory Sloane (Adel) - out of contract
5. Dylan Shiel (GWS) - out of contract
6. Jack Steven (St K) - out of contract
7. Adam Tomlinson (GWS) - out of contract
8. Scott Selwood (WCE) - free agent
9. Devon Smith (GWS) - out of contract
10. James Aish (Bris) - out of contract

------------------------------------------------------

5. Dylan Shiel (GWS)

Midfielder

Age: 21 Games: 50

Contracted until end of 2015

Would you want to play at the club where your (possible) future father in law coaches? Shiel’s partner is the daughter of Richmond coach Mark Williams and it is understood Williams has been talking Shiel up a as a future superstar for years. Richmond made a public pitch for Shiel two years ago and will go hard again next year. The Tigers had a big war chest of cash this year but kept it up their sleeve with something in mind next season. Tigers’ fans will salivate at the prospect of Trent Cotchin, Dustin Martin, Reece Conca, Anthony Miles and Shiel all in the midfield.

of that list id like us to go at selwood/danger  as a f/a's  costs nothing.it then allows you to  target uncontracted players where you invariably have to pay. tomlinson/cameron  for gods sake we need talls.

Need to sew up Cotchin and Rance, we don't need that pressure while we are trying to get Shiel.

But watch us stuff it up.

Sewing up Cotchin and Rance are the least of our worries.
With absolutely no improvement in our list this year bottom place is becoming!
Watch all our stars walk out as we begin a full rebuild Bulldogs style ;)

LoL , the draft hasn't even happened yet, nine list changes if Im right :wallywink ...and our retention rate is not in bulldogs league sunshine  :shh

I'm an optimist so I'd say about 1.20 on.
