Given hes had 8-10 years in the system and he is a bad kick you think the club ought to try something different with his coaching. Maybe revert everything to torpedos and kick every kick 50m or only 20m stab passes 500 a day or something radical because he is a poor kick and if Richo is anything to go by will remain a poor kick.  If the guy could kick and tap ruck, we already know he can mark a bit so he would be servicable.

I'm with you on this one. I lost a loved one to cancer at the age of 16. I didn't have a 350K/year job to fall back on. I also didn't have a hot girlfriend/wife to comfort me. Like he has my greatest sympathies but there are countless people who go through this in worse situations.

His Career stats have been average since 07/08. He kicked 1 goal for us in 11 games (and had some bad sprays in front of the sticks also). As someone mentioned earlier, if he was really concerned about his father's health, he should've left football long ago. We don't live in the states where medical treatment is $$$$$$$$$$$$$. The public health system will look after Mr Hampson and provide him with the treatment he needs.

I do hope he bounces back and he moves on with his hardships but coming out in November with this sort of news is bizarre to me.

Well said TM, some people have no idea

Ironic

From the way you post about people you should look in the hall of mirrors. Take your own advice and deal with it

and i'm saying, you should also stroll down the halls.

l have seen hundreds of ruckmen who can't kick the ball properly, But they can ruck excellent. He is a backup ruck & plays that role. l thought against GWS he showed he can get around the ground. Now talking about tall players who kick like crap. Specialist forward Matthew Richardson a huge man should have kicked 1200 goals. l seen him miss a goal from right in front kicking it on the full at the MCG against Collingwood. Minutes later he kicked one 55m on the  run from the boundry. One of the best running goals you ever see. All bigmen struggle to kick the ball on set shots. It don't matter who coaches them or how much they practise. Its just the way it is. Marking on the other hand he needs to improve & with the right coaches that can be fixed easy but gee the delivery of the ball down at RFC stinks for years. We are one of the poorest side in the AFL hitting a player on the chest. Most times you see our players at full stretch in the easiest of passes made look hard so you could hardly have a crack at anyone for not marking the ball at Tigerland. Just take a look at Junk time Jack. He drops some easy marks & kicks like Duncan Kellaway at times  ;D l will back Hampson this year. Its have 2 good seasons or no more contract for him. Matthew Kruzer will be the replacement  ;D

You seen to forget Richo played for Richmond haha.

That's the only reason he didn't kick 1,000+ goals. Even if he was a superb set shot he wouldn't have kicked more than 850-900 max.

Richo played in a era with alot of spuds footballers. Now they dont show it on tv. But at least 200 times l have seen Richo 1on 1 20 metres in front of his player & no-one else 60 metres from goal & we have the ball & donot kick it to a leading Richo & prefer to go sideways & overuse the ball & it gets turned over & scored a goal against. Say yes if your a Richmond supporter & seen this happen at the game many  many times. As l said the tv dont show the field have empty. Flood, chase a kick, ugly football. All say I  ;D

so what your sayin you prefer turnover goals rather than kick it to Richo 1 on 1. Well he didn't do too bad kicking 800 for a poo kicker. little crowd anxiety maybe but a quality footballer for his size

Blasphemy IMO.

So he shanked a few, whatever.

Bloke sticks with the Tiges for a long
and fruitless career despite better offers of success and money elsewhere, breaks his face for the club, jags 800 goals, and it's still not good enough for some of you.

Kick it to Richo 1v1? I rarely saw him one out. More like 1v2-3 and getting murdered by the umps.

FMD.

no different to only talking about the bad
“For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways my ways,” says the Lord.

“For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
So are my ways higher than your ways,
And my thoughts than your thoughts."
