« on: August 10, 2005, 04:45:24 AM »
Now that Cambo has retired, are Richo and Gas the only ones eligible as Veterans next year?

Stafford if he's still around.  What about Andy Kellaway?

Andy Kellaway drafted 1997
Greg Stafford drafted 2001

Pretty sure they've got to be at the club for 10 years to be eligible julz, so their age doesn't come into it. AK was in the Richmond reserves before he was drafted. I assume that doesn't count but I'm not positive. He turns 30 later this year.

Debuted in 1998.

Cheers guys. As we're only paying something like 94% of the salary cap on top of most likely being in the black again in terms of our budget, I was just curious as to whether we will make both Richo and Gas vets to keep plenty of room in our TPP for the future.

I suppose it also depends on what we are going to trade for.

If we go for an experienced player they'll cost a bit more.

Personally I'dlike to see an extra $$$ we may have go to increasing our rookie list. We seem to be managing and developing that side of things very well IMV

Agree with you WP about the rookie list. We should try for the maximum (6 minus how many on the veterans list) this time around after the success with Thursfield. At roughly $25K plus match payments a cheap way of discovering talented kids who might not be ready come draft day.
