average set of numbers. $113 per member average, giving money away to the aboriginal institute and then going and signing taylor hunt and resigning Chris Newman lol. How about they spend some money and get us some name players so we can win a flag before we all cark it.

It's not a huge win, but if you take into account how we performed for the first half of the season it's a pretty good effort to come out in front.

I really don't understand what people expect. After the first half of the season, a number of people fell away... For us to still post a profit is a credit to the organization. If we can manage these type of results, in what i would deem an average year, we are heading in the right direction.

We have come from a long long way back. We aren't a powerhouse all conquering club, yet. Believe it or not but it takes time to build a club that can enjoy sustained success. Like WP I'm happy that the figures aren't inflated by the FTF.

Like every aspect of our club, we can still improve on this.

Bingo

And from page 3 of the Concise Report

The decrease in the profit as compared to the 2013 financial result is largely attributable to:

• A decrease in AFL distributions of $575,000;

• A decrease in fundraising proceeds of $950,000 (the proceeds from the Fighting Tiger Fund
campaign were largely received in the 2012 and 2013 financial years);

• A decrease in match day income of $625,000; and

• An increase in football department expenditure of $1.9 million.

Factor all those things in and it's a very good set of numbers

And BTW the last point the extra footy dept send is significant

repeat very good set of numbers  :clapping

Good set of numbers in these days & times!  Well done!  Great to see some Football Dept spending, even if it chops down our figures a bit.  Considering how some other clubs have lost huge chunks of money we are doing fine, but we can always do better.
Id love to have a peek at Effendons books & read the litany of excuses to their members ... & how did Port still lose $2mill after relocating to the Adelaide Oval & tripling their attendance?    :huh

do you think spending an extra $1.9 million in the football department and then getting smashed by Port in the final is a good result. Why did we spend an extra 1.9 million ... did we sign some superstar players or something? I want to know where this money was spent.

Maybe they are spending money in areas that might take a little longer to return on the field. I'm not sure altitude training helped Collingwood as much in year 1 as compared to years 2-4. We may not see an instant improvement from that increased spend. As long as it's well spent, I'm not going to complain about increased spend in the football department - an area we have been well behind the power clubs.

Easily their stadium deal with SACA is terrible; basically made nothing from their games. ditto the Crows

All the profits from the gate are going back to SACA not the 2 clubs.

Our MCG deal is terrible too, worst of the lot. When will this be rectified ? We have been at the G since the 60's and have a worse deal than Collingwood and Hawthorn who just moved like 2 mins ago

stuff me a profit, sorry, a healthy profit and the negative Nancy's are still toasting our lack of success with half empty champagne glasses. Could only be Richmond.

Good question but i think it went to Leppa's replacement or to the new recruits in Bailey and Mcqualter. They are on poo loads i am lead to believe.

Membership department failed us.

If they hit the 75k goal then the profit would have been on the curve, not less than last couple of years.

Can you tell me the page number of the concise report where the $1.9 million extra spend can be found. I had a look to find it but its not there from what I can see. Thanks.
