That bloody long way is getting bloody shorter every game....at least JON had the decency to know his limitations and stay away from the ball...:shh

Worst disposal I've ever seen in an AFL footballer....

Needs to work much harder and that should be in the magoos....

Ever?
That’s a massive call and you’ve had a literal cavalcade of mediocrity to watch over the past 40 odd years.
I would literally take him over the vast majority of the 1988 list alone let alone the rubbish that Greg Miller drafted last decade.
But I digress.....
I have a feeling he and Butler have been overtaken by Baker and Bolton in the team.
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

George will remain in the side if he's kicking 3 goals with 6 scoring involvements and 4 tackles.

The thing that annoyed me was he twice waited for the ball to arrive to him which allowed a Melbourne player to run from 10m behind and past him to spoil.

People need to be as harsh on Rioli as they are on George. If he had the performance that Rioli had tonight people would be writing petitions for him to be dropped.

Was thinking the same.

R4
Castagna: 0.0, 11 possessions, 6 tackles
Rioli: 0.2, 10 possessions, 2 tackles

R5
Castagna: 1.1, 14, 8
Rioli: 1.0, 13, 3

R6
Castagna: 3.2, 11, 4
Rioli: 0.2, 6, 5

I think Rioli is only getting a game because of his name

You obviously don’t know the rules of this site.

Nobody is to bag, insult or even question a Rioli on this site ever.

You’ll do well to learn this.

You probably don’t know this but he had an interrupted pre-season and that’s why he is down on form..... actually was that last pre-season or the latest one?

Anyway it doesn’t really matter.

Learn the rules!

Nar definitely on form...

His form this year is definitely that of a first round selection in his 4th year.

Agree. His tackling definitely is a real strength. Kicked two and set up a goal for Jack.

I get the impression we are tweaking our forward line a bit and some players are taking a little time to adjust. I am guessing it might have something to do with having Lynch in our forward line, and the different way he brings the ball down to ground in a marking contest. Lynch seems to predominantly bring the ball to ground in front of the pack, where as Jack seemed to be a bit more sideways or behind the pack. Rioli, and Butler for that matter, seem to be much more dangerous running onto the footy going towards goal rather than hunting across the pack.

George actually looked pretty comfortable last night. He looks much better kicking for goal across his body, so if Lynch does bring the ball down forward, I think that is George's go. His tackling, as has been mentioned, is very good, particularly front on tackling, where as Rioli is a much more a run down tackler.

Ellis for the second week in a row has snagged goals, and last night they were deeper in the forward line than I think I have seen him lurk before. McIntosh is another who seems to be consistently pressing further forward than in the last couple of seasons.

Conversely, Baker seems to be playing further up the ground.

I dunno, just some observations that might be way off the mark.

Good coaching, their back men are too
Slow. George and others dashed into space and received the pass.
No good kicking to packs when they have the numbers
