Good news but I have to dips me lid to al who pretty much predicted Martin will keep putting us through this circus every two years.
:lol as opposed to the chicken littles squawking about how he was gone and we cant afford to loose him?

Thanks for the acknowledgement, all the same . Some things you are happy to wrong about.

So can we fire up the "Favourite Player" thread again and recast our votes with this new and exciting knowledge?

Good point Smokey and I hope it didn't get lost in all excitement of the re-signing.  I and countless others were led to believe he was gone and cast our votes accordingly.

Some people need to have a good hard look at themselves over this fiasco

good news he has signed with out all the fuss of last time. but i suppose i have to be the one to rain on the parade  ;D.

only a two yr contract. why? surely the club offered a longer deal. i  would have thought  with martin now well and truly established and 23yrs old a 4 or 5 yr deal to be appropriate.most players chase security seems martin is happy with two yr deals gotta be a reason for that.

maybe the reason is if we dont go anywhere in the next two yrs at 25 26 yrs old martin will be well placed to go where he can get some success on a big contract.

ah theres always a downside. :whistle

He would have been crazy to sign for longer.  After 2 years he is a restricted FA and his value would skyrocket.  It would be his manager that would have said two years max.

I reckon the trend now is 2 years until you get around FA then go for a 5 year option while your value is strong.

Exactly again

WP, given I stated some time ago that Dusty had done the deal and it would be announced when the club was looking to spike membership again only to see it appear right before the membership offers expire plus family day, I'd like to officially apply for the role as 'Official OER Mailman', a position currently held by Bojangles.
