I've watched this and it always annoys me how they disregard our 9 wins and focus on the final only when making a call on whether they think we will make the finals.
Not many teams win 9 games in a row during the season!!

Because if you can't play finals footy your really no good as a footy team.

When it comes down to it softy lollipop pansy footy can only get you so far in this comp. If we were regarded as a tough, ferocious, hard at the contest, uncompromising and able to play man on man then nobody would be commenting about the final because we most probably either would've won or came close to winning.
We are still regarded by many as the "egg team" and that won't change until we manifest some more toughness on the field and are able to play man on man, especially in finals.
The club that keeps giving.

No-one wouldve beaten port that day - no-one. Our best wouldve been 5-6 goals short and thats the truth. Not condoning our performance, it was pathetic and i wouldve at least liked to see some fight in the first stanza but dont for a second think we couldve ever won that one.

that wind was mental, we stitched ourselves up, they had a home ground advantage as it was, then we kicked ourselves in the balls and gave em a cyclonic wind head start kicking for goals.  We were eating poo for the rest of the match trying to play catch up half blown and they didn't break a sweat exposing the difference in fitness levels.  Theirs are very good ours look crap by comparison We need to improve out of sight this year.

disagree they were allowed to do what they pleased with little or no pressure applied to them in return. so many soft players  coupled with glass half fulls has been and remains our biggest sinle problems.
ffs the weak ones with no  intestinal fortitude
houli, grigg, grimes, griffiths,ellis, chaplin,
the battlers who just arent good enough
petterd, newman, edwards conca, gordon foley batchelor. and im being very kind.

what the hell is going to change under this regime. you can bank on it very little. apart from maybe one or two the lot of them have reached their ceiling and it has never ever been good enough.

Was Newman gifted that final too or was that accolade given him in the 2013 final when he couldn't walk?
Caracella and Balmey.
