Into the Draft

In to the Draft - Go behind-the-scenes in the lead-up to, and during, the 2014 National Draft, and view Richmond's recruiting process that led to the selection of Corey Ellis and all of the Tigers National Draft picks.

Richmond's newest batch of draftees got their first taste of senior football in the Yellow and Black last weekend.

For the Club’s recruiting team, it was the culmination of another 12 months of exhausting work scouring the country for the best available young talent to add to the Tigers' playing list.

In a Roar Vision first, the final jewel-in-the-crown of the Bingle Recruitment Zone, we take you behind-the-scenes in the lead-up to, and during, the 2014 National Draft.

With rare access to the recruiters' pre-draft meeting in Torquay, and at the draft table in November on the Gold Coast, this is a must-see for all Tiger fans.

I got to hand it to FJ for sticking his neck out considering he's failed time & time again especially after 1st round.
Those days of highlights videos plopped into FJ's old VHS are well and truly gone.
With all the millions poured into this department, all the latest tech and up to the minute stats it's good to see our money making them all feel relevent and special.

I'm not expecting much from anything after 1st round because history tells us that they are useless at this caper especially after the 1st round pick. (And I'm not even going to mention Sideshow Bob)

great video concept but at no stage do we find out "this guy" is (only see Duggan on the screen)..... it'd be great to know who else they were pondering for pick x.

good PR but basically no use because they don't tell us anything but its Richmond doing its best PR work, get the supporters excited over nothing and pretend that your actually doing something lol.

Would of thought it was pretty obvious why they can't divulge names. Which unproven talent wants to be compared right from the start. Why show any sense of doubt in a player? I can imagine a huge component of selection would focus on the negative attributes of a player/individual.

Would you want them to come out say, "Ellis is really capable but maybe he doesn't have the mental capacity to adopt our game plan..." be realistic.

I really liked the insight. It's moving into NFL territory where stuff is being filmed constantly & from time to time you can release some pretty exciting stuff retrospectively.

Interesting that Hartley mentioned the 08 draft, Hartlett, Trengove & Broadbent... Be nice if we added that sought of talent to our list.

Detka! Detka! Detka!

don't be a blithering idiot, we have plenty of 2/3 r selections on the fringes , coz they cant break into the side, the likes of Dea Batch astbury griff and so on would have played 100 games ea at many other clubs. are you gonna pick apart Haw recruiting coz the likes of O Halloran and woodward haven't played enough games in first three years  :wallywink :banghead  ...genius :clapping

You want me to compare our recruiting to Hawthorn's?
I think our recruiting has been ordinary and that includes some 1st round picks too.
FJ has too many misses and not enough wins.
But keep on believing BJ hopefully one day they'll get it right. :thumbsup

Apparently they walked out of 2008 very happy and we didn't get a single pick right except maybe for Cousins (IMO) :lol

Not sure if you're joking or not, but that was Hartley referring to Port's 2008 draft. Hartlett, Trengove, Broadbent.

Thought it was great footage. Enjoyed seeing just how serious they take it and loved how excited they were getting when the big fella was going to slip through. Great vision, keep it coming.

Enjoyed it but sounds like they always knew who they wanted. It was always "Corey and the other guy" or something like that. Someone slipped a "Liam" at some point and I assume the comparison was Duggan.

the big fella couldn't even kick the goal against the bullies from 10 metres directly in front
