High School
« on: March 11, 2015, 07:54:25 PM »
'65's post in the Politics thread made me curious so I thought I would start a new thread while we are all bored in the off-season:

What High School did you attend and when?

For me it was Laverton High from '70 to '73 then Buckley Park High from '74 to '75.

I went to school in Brisbane so I don't think anyone here would recognise, but I went to John Paul college from 99 to mid 01, then Runcorn State High from 01 to 02.

Laverton High, just across the railway lines from our place. It is now called Laverton Secondary College or words to that effect  :lol

My significant other went to Laverton High, when they bothered attending

Small world WP.  What years?  When I was there they had just built the school in Bladin St and it only went up to Form 4.  It was a weird layout ("modern" was the term I think   ;D ) and was constructed in such a way that they could double the size of it (which they did while I was there) and it eventually went to Form 6 but that was after we moved to Niddrie and I changed schools.

Early 1980's (1980-1985) for memory

It's still in Bladin Street

They've actually just done a major renovation/extension there in the last couple of years, think it even has a primary school next door. My in laws live off Bladin Street

Not far from my old stomping ground, Tony.  Grew up in East Burwood but went to Syndal High (aka Swindle High) from 77 - 82.  We always played Mt Waverley at sports, cos they were nearby, but Jeff Hogg killed us at football (coached by Warwick Irwin) & Dean Jones smashed us at cricket ... it really wasn't fair cos we had nobody!  (Hoggy kicked 10 against us in a half  :help   Deano made a 50 off our first four overs ... then we got bowled out for 3 ... so they let us go home  :-[  )
