So what is our pass mark? There's been a suggestion of three from the club:-
1) win a final
2) everything is aligning to do better (as per above)
3) the article released by the club at the start of March to put on the record our weaknesses and open the door to not hitting our pass mark, saying we are still the 9th youngest list amongst other things.
3/ what a nonsense this statement is. compare the the premiers hawthorn to the rfc when it comes to age and experience.
hawks 24yrs and 82 days with 74 being the average number of games played.
tiges 23 yrs and 309 days with 63 being the average number of games played per player.
so in effect hawthorn have a list that has played just 11 games per player more than us and are only 3.37 days per player older.
we can talk age and experience all day but the real key is the quality of player you have on the list.hawthorn clearly have more quality players than us.
whats the point of having a young player on the list if he cant play at the level and doesnt look likely to. yep great he makes your list look young but it means jack poo if he cant play.
what im saying is its not about the age and experience of your over all list junior and development players are just that, junior and development players. go look at the age and experience of hawthorns premiership side and while at it the overall depth and quality of it. they averaged 26yrs plus and 138 games in the gf . their better players are their more experienced players their kids and development players ATM HAVE LITTLE INFLUENCE ON THEIR PERFORMANCES IN THE SHORT TERM.
how do the hawks best 25 30 players stack up against ours and all other teams for that matter.CITING YOUTH IS A COP OUT. I have one question for the club. if we are talking youth or juniors are they going to be good enough. Are any making an impact.
its plain wrong to just say oh we have the 9th youngest list we have the 7th most experienced as far as gam,es played goes.
