After doing my pre-season rundown I had a funny thought the other day.

It was that the team I consider potentially the most dangerous outside "the five capable of winning the Premiership" wasn't even in my top eight.

Work that out.

I had placed Richmond ninth.

In sporting parlance that's a bit like suggesting Daniel Ricciardo drives fast!

The Tigers pride themselves on finishing ninth.

But in terms of ability there is something there, it's just that they can't be trusted.

In fact, to get to the heart of how I feel about Richmond look no further than their uniform.

It's the best in the AFL (when I think of footy in my mind's eye I see a Richmond jumper on a bright sunny day). But even then they manage to shoot themselves in the foot, or to be more precise, the back.

White numbers on a yellow sash? Sheer brilliance ...

Too stubborn by half, too self-absorbed for their own good.

So why is it then that if Richmond were to win the 2015 Premiership I wouldn't be completely shocked? Fair to say it's complex.

But what I do know is that immediately after I tip them to win any game, in my mind's eye I can't help seeing Bernie Madoff's face on a dark and gloomy day!
