Vlastuin's still 20 years old....as for his output so far ...was good in his first year and was one of only three plyers that stood up in EF and tried to get us back in the game when Carlton was overrunning us (Maric & Cotchin being the other two) was more cold than hot last year, hardly the first player to have second year blues, nonetheless still played well in a crunch game at Adelaide and was one of our best in the second half last week. So no real comparison at all really.

Batch
Grigg
Morris
Chaplin
Lloyd
Newman
Gordon

All must go, they are not going to be in a GF side, stuffing pathetic. They give up, they are useless.
may as well add to those 7
arnot
dea
drummond
elton
mcdonough
hampson
mcbean
all look more like going than staying then add in the mature ones who wont be around
houli
maric
foley
knights
vickery
thomas
then add in those who could still go either way
griffiths
conca and most of the juniors and the work to be done is enormous. there was always a shedload to do 2 or 3 yrs ago but those in charge thought other wise.
at least half the list should seriously  be looked at in the short term.
imo there really is only about 6 players plus 4 or 5 juniors who are untouchable.

true in particular about his second year, but he is now into his third year and is around the 50 game mark, so he should be starting to have more influence on games (not saying dominate). he is one of the players that needs to improve if we are to get better and i have high expectations of him, which means i will judge him accordingly. By no means writing him off, but want to see more out of him

I now believe he would be a much better player with another coach and that's not being sensationalist, how do you reckon he'd develop under a ross lyon?

My strong feeling is that Drummond won't make it either claw but I have to laugh at you adding him to WAT's "must go" list before he's even played a competitive match.  As for writing off McBean - well that's laughable for a number of reasons. Guess topping the goal kicking in your first two years, including second in the entire league despite missing six games and playing in a poor side counts for stuff all if you you play poorly in a couple of televised practice matches.(one of which came after spending most of the off-season in a moon boot)  Also claw, you do realise that he was drafted with the expectation that he would probably take 3-4 years to be ready for senior football and he has only just started his 3rd year?

food for thought, for sure.

i reckon a few AFL coaches would have given him a run in the center before Ellis in an attempt to get his hands on the ball and just to see how he went when we needed somes drive from the middle

Lloyds a funny one. Haven't rated him but I was actually pleased with his game on the weekend. Despite kicking less goals I thought he had a better game because he had more of a presence offensively and defensively.

An unpopular opinion I'm sure but I still rate Morris as a role player. He shouldn't be up forward but that's not his fault. Still has a lot to offer as a lock down small back but also needs to improve in a lot of areas. I felt like we were back in pre 2011 with a no name small forward having a career best game against us.

I think its clear after only 2 games Morris isnt a natural crumbing forward. Maybe he'll improve there but on the weekend he got moved back because he barely got seen.

Lloyd ought to be a better kick at goal. He sprayed a few shots that he ought not to.

I still like Morris as a small defender too.

Give him a man and tell him not to let him touch the footy each week and i reckon he is fine.
Who isn't a fan of the thinking man's orange Tim Fleming?

But thats as it should be given the compromised drafts they all came in during.

Hopefully in 2 years there are 9 or 10 obvious untouchables and 5 juniors

Sure the list has holes but the general standard has improved. The losses arent huge the team doesnt drop its bundle as it did before.

Maybe he should be a tagger.

Doubt he can run with a midfielder.
