i dont get it. hes done nothing nothing at all. ffs we delisted him then felt sorry and rookied him. matt thomas actually deserves to be promoted.imo the last two yrs he did more than enough to go on the list proper. the difference in performance between the two really is the length of the flemington straight.

Opportunity only arises for the unfavored when injury strikes.

See Miles.

Neither. Jason Short or Castagna.
OER. Calling it as it is since 2004.

Watched him last weekend. There are things about him I like.

Are you suggesting the coaches have done a stellar job managing him the last few years?

Things I noticed:
- goes hard at the ball
- brutal tackling
- runs at the man with the ball, not defensively where he thinks the player will run
- great disposal
- clearly in the better players in the vfl team, along with Astbury, Knights and even Foley

These are things I like and want to see in the side instead of blokes like Newman.

On the other hand claw, who would you elevate instead?

And he has a big body, unlike Miles and Cotchin, who are brave enough but have zero weight to throw around. They're like rag dolls in the centre.

you clearly didnt read my post or you wouldnt have to ask. you know what id play anyone in front of the likes of newman including arnot. i just think thomas is the best option.
he had a damn decent yr last yr yet hes 28 and the blinkers go up. based on performances in 13 games he was a best 22 player.

i like the idea of rewarding players who go back to state league work their arses off dominate the comp  win a magary medal work on weaknesses and translate that to afl when given another go.
you want tackling,  you want c/ps, you want clearances you want a ball winner you got it last yr with thomas at afl level. his last two seasons have been good.

Read it but didn't compute. I'm on night shifts, tired.

Yes I agree. I'd consider having them both in the side. We're seriously lacking inside strength and never replaced Tuck and Jackson, which has clearly hurt our midfield.

If we could field both of them then I'd consider it.

cant believe that someone would bang on about players and their deficiencies and glass half stuffed types then ejaculate  over a half baked potato cake like Thomas.

In the reserves reports Arnott constantly gets mentions, while thomas doesnt
“For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways my ways,” says the Lord.

“For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
So are my ways higher than your ways,
And my thoughts than your thoughts."

Dead right we never replaced jackson and Thomas is the replacement for Tuck. We are weak in the mid field atm and a bit slow without lids and Edwards.

i cant believe someone could be so ignorant.
do you want a proper debate or do yopu just want to sling poo at each other its up to you.

i never said thomas doesnt have weaknesses but a margary medal just two seasons ago says hes out performed arnot at state level. top 5 in c/ps tackles clearances and top 6 in disposals says he had a damn good yr in 13 games of afl for an inside mid. . but hey your hoping arnot who got delisted and was down right ordinary last yr can do better.
if thomas is a dud arnots to date is a bigger one despite the difference in age.
