What are the trade currency of these players?
« on: April 24, 2015, 11:31:24 PM »
Why are they at our club, taking a spot of a kid. 2 examples of our 2 best players this year. Rance and Edwards. Both 2nd round selections, not top 10, not first round but 2nd round selections. We drafted them and gave them time. No quick fixes like draftees from state league or picked up recycled delisted players, free agency or traded in unwanted players. It's what should have been our focus over the last few years.

What would other clubs give up for these guys:
Chaplin
Petterd
Foley
Newman
Grigg
Lloyd
Gordon
Morris
Hampson
Knights
Thomas
(Rookie, can be given some slack but still a rookie spot is taken)

I would suggest not much at all. That is 10 players. 10! No other club would touch any of those players, not even Carlton or Brisbane who will finished bottom 2. Chaplin and Grigg would be the only 2 that would be looked at and we'd be lucky for a 3rd rounder for either one.

Why are they at our club, taking a spot of a kid, the next Rance or Edwards. The fact we have no small forward on our list, or anyone with decent pace is a disgrace.

none of those players would get you anything. Zip. Zero. Nuffin. No club is going to give you any draft picks for them you wouldn't even get a 5th rounder for any of them.

Those 10 players make up 1/4 of our list. Worthless is the exact word.

The rest would be made up with decent A Graders (who went missing tonight) and a heap of B Grade kids who haven't peaked yet.

Week in week out we rely on our top tier to win us games, hope our B Grade kids play out of their skins and hope our 10 players of absolute worthless currency don't hurt us the other way. Tonight, Morris cost us 3 clear goals, Lloyd fumbled on 4 occasions in the front half which resulted in a missed oppurtunity and 1 was a rebound goal. Gordon dropped a sitter of a mark inside 50.

There is no point in any of them being on our list.

Hampson the only one that probably is needed incase Maric goes down. But if Maric goes down and we play Hampson we are stuffed anyway. Should turn Vickery into a full time ruckman. Delist Hampson

Morris would get a go in plenty of teams.

He's tough, runs his guts out, puts his body on the line, and is starting to impact the scoreboard - kicking goals and score involvements.

As a finishing forward he's a liability. First to kick off line tonight.

Hardwick wants to play 3 tall forwards. Vickery wont be traded. Grigg wont be traded either. The rest aren't worth anything but the list shows how much improvement we could if we replaced the rest of the group with free agents, trades and draft picks.
