No victimisation, Bo, it was a hard ask in the first place   :sarcasm
Sorry froarsy, a positive response would appear too out of step with the misery in this thread and would likely be misinterpreted , so carry on , don't mind me

What you decipher as misery is in fact reality.
Hope you got much enjoyment out of today.....as you do on a weekly basis.
It's YOUR club, my friend.
Well done.

The only enjoyment I get out of Richmond these days is watch how my fellow supporters deal with it.

Let's face it our club stinks so bad, year after year we watch other clubs who hit rock bottom rise up higher and more quickly then our own team.

Port Adelaide, Adelaide, Western Bulldogs, West Coast, and now the likes of Melbourne and St Kilda FFS.

Wont be too long before Carlton the basket case will pass us too and when that happens I will most likely wash my hands of it.

I no longer rant and carry on at the TV, in fact the most I've watch us this year was about a half of footy, saw the writing on the wall.

There's no I in team, but there is 5 i's in Individual Brilliance.

I'm sure everyone here was getting plenty of enjoyment from the club when they went on the run of 9 last year.
It was absolute euphoria for the week we beat Sydney and made the finals.
Since then sure it's been disappointing but harden up princesses, can't win all the time.

Mr Magic, it isn't so much the losing as such but how they are losing

You suggest "we" (the members and supporters) harden up, I just want to see the team toughen at at the barest minimum play competitive footy.

On Saturday for 20 minutes in the 3rd quarter they played uncompetitvie, bruise free, insipid, "I don't give a stuff" footy

Can't expect supporters who have been toughing it up for 30 years to continue to do so when the club itself wont

Upsets galore on the weekend, big comebacks, spirited performances and exciting signs.

We don't even look like coming close to winning a game.

I can handle losing as long as the players give their all and are competitive. That's what made the 'rebuild' somewhat enjoyable.

Great post WP, insipid, bruise free, "I don't give a stuff", "my place in the side is safe" footy is disgusting and is all we have got all season.

Dimma better start giving a stuff because ultimately the buck falls with him, or it should but who knows based on what Gale and Peggy have been saying.
If he will not send the players guilty for bruise free football down to the VFL, then he sends the message it is acceptable.

I'd love for a reporter to ask Dimma about the Tigers being soft again. I've got no doubt opposition clubs love playing us knowing they won't need to wake up early the next morning for a beach recovery session.

I'd just like to win some of the time...but hey, good on you or being "hard" enough that you're content with the current situation and our last three decades. A prince among princesses you are no doubt.

Seriously "can't win all the time"... you obviously think we're stuffing Hawthorn coming off back to back flags or something.... stuff me drunk....

Exactly. Worse still they are playing like a bunch of individuals not as a team. They don't shepherd. They don't help out team mates and they set up team mates with ridiculous decision making. They don't care. They don't show passion. They are playing bruise free football. If the players continue to treat the supporters with contempt why shouldn't they get a taste of their own medicine.

I have little doubt the players out there are trying their best.
My sense is the squad we have at our disposal is just not that good this year.
Other teams have reinvigorated their lists and we didn't.

Therefor I'd be looking squarely at our list manager, coach & Gale ahead of the players who are no doubt even more frustrated than us.

Seems to me that those pulling the strings  misread how much improvement was required.

All is not lost but clearly a lot of changes are needed. When it comes so will the enjoyment again.

Yeah sure the 9 game streak last year was fantastic, this year has been utter crap.  How in 6 years Dimma has been unable to address our inability to handle oppositions full ground press and manic pressure at the ball carrier is an indictment on his coaching ability.  Year after year this has been the case and again this year against Bulldogs, Demons and Kangas the same thing, teams know that if you do this to Richmond then they will turn the ball over. This moron has continued to play a high possession, corridor game even when sides do this.  Unfortunately for us not all sides will allow us to play as Dimma puts it' the Richmond way' ala Brisbane. I don't mind getting beaten by a better side, we get beaten in the coaches box that's where you get no enjoyment out of watching the current day side.

As a side note, just once and I mean just once before he departs I'd like to see this coach of sorts come down from the box at either qtr or 3 qtr time quickly and rip into the players when needed instead of coming down a couple of minutes after everyone else and casually strolling out to the board men. Ignore the stats Dimma and occasionally coach from the heart with some instinct and passion, it might actually work

Very well said, and exactly my thoughts.
My worry is that the necessary adjustments will not be made by this administration.

The concept that the players aren't trying is horse poo. We would be losing by 100 every game it they weren't. They are just not good enough and their lack of skill is being compounded by lack of confidence.

The team is playing like a bunch of individuals. The defence is a glaring example of this. To me in the defence at the moment the only ones that are playing team oriented football is Rance and Vlastuin. There were very few examples in the North game of gut running yet there were countless examples of palming it off to others who were already under the pump. There are clearly problems with list management but there is just as clear problem with player attitude. Some players are just going through the motions. We were fortunate against North because North weren't flash in the first half. If we meet a side that is switched on with our current attitude we will be well and truly thumped.  Comprehensive change is required everywhere.

The only thing more depressing than the skata cycle of the RFC is the skata cycle of its supporters
