why not?
It could be unsettling for the playing group?.

if the players get unsettled cause the clubs signs a new assistant-coach, then i am afraid they are morons

why not?

Hardwick, Williams and Malthouse, toy many egos?
I am not opposed to the idea but just chucking some other ideas out there.

could be...
Not so much unsettled by the man and his presence but the media circus that would surround him

director of football?

the eade role?

was that job not made for maguire oringally for malthouse

Past his best. No thanks.

If he couldnt work with Buckley, those same issues will apply at Punt Rd.

Prefer that we target Matty Knights.

It's a bit different working for an incumbent coach than working for/ with a bloke you were tapped on the shoulder for.

As a consultant for recruiting & player development, yes.  As an assistant coach, no way!  Nobody can assess a player quite like Mick can & nobody knows more about how to right the flaws in their game than Mick.  But to put him anywhere near the coaches box would tempt fate ...
The guy has an incredible eye for talent & can turn average players into elite performers like nobody else can, he's a footballers mechanic, as a Tiger of old its time to get him back on our side.  We may need to think beyond Choco, who is better than Mick?    :thumbsup

I think his game plans are dated. Don't think he has the ability to adapt to the current trends in football. It took him until this year to not implement his "boundary at all costs" style of play he had with the Pies back in 2010 and the Blues have been shocking at executing are more corridor style of play. Also the fact that he still uses a 31 year old Chris Judd to carry a significant load in the clearances I think is horrible coaching.

Should we also get Leigh Matthews as an assistant? If Mick would do it maybe he would too?

If you're alluding to my post, it was firmly tongue in cheek.

possibly, but how much responsibility does mick take for the shocking state of the list as found in the report just done by silvagni?

Nor are your ways my ways,” says the Lord.

“For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
So are my ways higher than your ways,
And my thoughts than your thoughts."

Actually think he'd be a really good mentor for our younger coaches

We have reasonable young coaching group, reckon he'd be good at mentoring them

We have Choco developing the players, reckon Mick could do similar with the young coaches

I dont think there is a natural role for him to play.
I don't see him as an assistant or even a development coach for the 2's.
Football manager? maybe but he is a bit undiplomatic for that position though tough which Im sure you need.
I also think his game plan is outdated so I don't see him on match day having any use.
Recruiter, he's never done it before.
Backline coach, but his game plan might\probably will clash with Hardwicks and then your just up shyte creek without a paddle.
Pity I just don't see a role for him now.
Maybe there is one, if Richmond find him one then Im not averse to it but I wouldn't go making a place for him.
Maybe on the board is his best place as the football rep on the board. I could see him doing that quite well.
