Wow! Congrats if it's true. It's justifiabe I think.

I'd like ot hear though how the All-Australian selectors justify Russell Robertson not being in the team kicking 70 odd goals as a flanker. I'd have him in the team before Brad Johnson or Shannon Grant.

Very true John, Robertson is very stiff to miss out.

Well done to Bowdo though, it is a fantastic effort and a great credit to the way he has prepared himself and also conducted himself on the field this season. He has truly made it as a top notch player after this season by backing up his fantastic finish to last season.

Also glad that Fletcher wasnt named full back, i would have spewed if he got it before Gaspar. Rutten has been solid for the crows all season and i dont have a problem with that.

Don't know about anyone else, but he's my smokey for back to back B&Fs.  Don't know if he's had a great year, but he's been pretty consistent.

LMFAO

Here's the thing dude.

I pharrken HATE the position that he plays. Loose man in defense is a blight on the game IMO.

BUT, there's no denying he plays the position well. He reads the play well, gets heaps of the footy and does initiate a lot of drive for our forward thrusts.

I'd rather see a bloke like Tuck get rewarded with All-Australian selection than have have your Joel Bowdens Luke Hodges, Joel Smiths and Austin Jones' get selection.

But given the current phaggotisation of the game where every team is anal retentive and feels they must play an extra man down back out of fear of going one on one, I suppose Bowden deserves a spot.

Even given that, it may be hard to justify two similar blokes in the same role, and I suppose Hodge has probably been a bit better than Bowden, but Bowden's been playing the role well for two years now, and was probably unlucky to miss last year.

u may hate the posi he plays and he may hate it too, but he is named as the all aus hbf because he was so damn good at it , ffs be bloody happy that he made the team, bloody hell cant u at least show some respect 4 the guy who is just playing and doing as he is instructed for a team u supposedly love! and hhodge plays differently to bowden as bowden plays alot taller. if tuck deserved to be in it he would have been named as i feel richo deserved a spot too, but u cant have everyone in theyr and the midfield they named was pretty hot. judd even missed out

I dont.

I agree with you oxx

what a joke.

Bowden had a decent year but not All Australian.

Laughable.

As for our B & F Tuck will win it in a canter, he was our best player this year, no way in the world Bowden will get close to him in 2005.

How did 3 players from the 15th side in the comp who won only 5 games and had the 4th worst defence get a guernsey ??? Maguire from the Saints should have been CHB IMO. Croad was playing up forward in the second half of the year. Hodge led the comp in most ballwinning categories so no complaints he's in there. Gilbee surely should of been in the back six AA ahead of Clement ???

Everitt as second ruckman should be on the bench as he didn't play forward. That would have left a spot open for Robertson.

I think the Coleman medalist should be the FF which would have been Gehrig. The rest I think the selectors got right.

As a Tiger supporter I'm biased but Joel was in the top 3-4 rebounders out of defensive 50 in the AFL so along with his hefty disposal stats and very good disposal and distribution he deserved his spot IMHO. Browny points from last year would have helped as well which happens in these awards. Bowden is more versatile too as he can play the sweeper role well as well as pick up a tall forward if need be. Great reward for Bowden for his form the past 2 years.

think your wrong there, richo and bowden will be up there too and my gut feeling is richo may just pip tuck over the line or it will be a tie
