We still can't handle the pressure of expectation
« on: June 19, 2015, 10:42:10 PM »
All credit to the Eagles but the worse thing about losing tonight was we weren't mentally switched on from the start. Like chalk and cheese from the pressure, intensity & skills of Freo game and the past 4 wins. So many Tigers fumbling, missing tackles, off their direct opponent by 10m+, poor decision making, etc. Back to the crap of the first six rounds. We simply failed the pressure of expectation test once again :damnpc. The side reading too much of their own press over the pass fortnight thinking it was just going to happen  :banghead.

We play like tonight against the Swans and it'll be a 10+ goal flogging. The irony is now we'll be written off again and no one will expect us to win next week, so we'll probably win  :pullhair

Stupid is as stupid does
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

I don't think we have a side that is good enough to win ugly OT win whilst playing poorly.

When 22 players are 'pumped' up and up for the fight we are very good. But when we are off we can't win ugly or 'get the job done'.

We need our B Graders to be flying for us to win. Can't happen every week unless you have an elite coach.
Go Tigers!

I think the leaders were still on holiday and didn't come to play.
Embarrassing effort and all the leaders deserve to be kicked all week for that insipid display.
The club that keeps giving.

Just so disappointing

And sadly not unexpected

I think the leaders were still on holiday and didn't come to play.
Embarrassing effort and all the leaders deserve to be kicked all week for that insipid display.

Totally agree with this ^

There's a few imminent sharp bends though. Maybe the train isn't good enough for this track:-

Sydney, GWS, Freo again, Hawthorn, Adelaide, Coll again and Norf

Sadly it is our B graders that are letting us down.

Thought our better players on the list were ok last night but blokes the like Hunt and Chaplin and a few others let us down at critical times.

I'm hoping if Ellis misses he is replaced by a kid and not Newman.

I would play Menadue again and give McIntosh another go even though I think he has struggled in the last few weeks. The exposure against Sydney and their discipline, hardness and toughness in the long run will teach the kids more than playing Newy right now ever will.
