CARLTON has confirmed that it has appointed Hawthorn assistant Brendon Bolton as its new senior coach.

Bolton, 36, was recommended to the Blues' board by its coaching selection sub-committee on Monday.

The appointment then needed to be ratified by the Carlton board, which met at Ikon Park at 4pm on Monday.

It is not clear if Bolton will remain with the Hawks until the end of the season or if he will take up his new position immediately, but Carlton will hold a media conference on Tuesday at 3.30pm.

WOnder how long the appointment is for

He (or anyone for that matter) needs 5-10 years to sort the mess out but doubt he'll get longer than 3  ;D

Bolton has made a huge mistake, he would have been better off going to Essendon they have a better list. Anyway both are stuffed as clubs and hopefully they rot at the bottom for the next 500 years.

SEN reporting that Bolton hasn't signed a contract for the coaching job.  Therefore there is no term stipulated ... Instead Bolton has been appointed as a staff member who will be coaching the side.
Smacks of a lack of confidence from both sides - Carlton can remove him in a second if its not working out & Bolton can pull the pin anytime he likes.

Coaches
The biggest narcissists of them all.
Think they can take half a list of men and be their mentor, father and saviour.
That's a whole lot of complexes, stacked.

Exactly how Trigg had things set up in Adelaide when Neil Craig was coach...
