I think Grigg Chaplin and Houli will do just fine. Newman may play well since its his real last crack at it.

Houli has been good this year. Defended more strongly and is up there with meters gained for the club each game. Grigg has also had a much better season and has improved his tackle numbers considerably. Chaplin has been solid and although turns the ball over on odd occasions, organizes the back six well. Newman has been the one we've carried for most of the year. He had an ok game recently but on the whole has not contributed.

If we lose in the finals it won't be because of these guys alone. It will be a collective team failure. Finals is where you really need your best rise to the top. Everybody else needs to play their role well.
Cotchin, Deledio, Martin and Jack have to have good games to put score board pressure on.
OER. Calling it as it is since 2004.

So with newman, you're relying on aged desperation for a good performance. Lol

The other three......dunno.

Chappy will either stand up or stuff us
Houli is as thick as two planks. Probs the thickest at the club.
Grigg - depends on if he has an opponent or not :snidegrin
Caracella and Balmey.

im not relying on anything. I said he may play well since its his last real crack. Don't expect anything special from him and havent for the last 2 years

I reckon Grigg plays better when he tags, goes walkabout when downhill skiing.
Houli has always been suspect with decision making in big occasions (or moments in games)
Chappy is just slow, reckon he'll be exposed under finals pressure.
Newman is proof that our club still enables self indulged mediocrity....
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

Cotchin, Deledio, Martin and Jack have to have good games to put score board pressure on.

well, they are four out of the starting 21 players. So thats a pretty significant percentage.

I agree if the team lose it will be a 'collective failure'

i would argue; September is where you really need your bottom six to stand up

in finals generally the guns always put in a decent performance for most sides

Rance, Cotchin, Deledio, Martin and Jack will probably have solid games. Cause they are good players and they generally play pretty ok. Its much harder to 'cover' the lesser guys not performing in big games, in front of big crowds, when things tighten up finals footy style

How times change ....I remember a time when Richmond was the joke of the AFL . Up until 2013 we had played in less final series than Fitzroy . Two finals campaigns in 31 years - seems unthinkable now.
But lets not let facts get in the way of a good old fashioned baking of players and coach." Dimmas mates"are obviously the reason why we are currently only 5th - not minor premiers.
Houli and Grigg - you came to the club the year after Richmond was described as the worst since Fitzroy. Since then the Tigers have only won 54 % of their games - not good enough boys
Chaplin - since you came to the club we have only won a paltry 63% of games .Although we havent missed the finals since you joined us - The back line is a complete shambles at the minute ...only the third tightest defence in the competition -  completely unacceptable
The best thing I have heard in 2015 is that it is Newmans final year. Thank god. I dont give a flying frig that he is responsible for the players wearing the jumper with such pride. What an imposter.
Lets not forget the coach . Plays favorites with players clearly not in the best 22. He may of dropped Foley for the final back in 2013 ( after Axel played 20 games during the year) - but he clearly has no idea

Yeah six years mate

Meanwhile; the pies and the dogs have been up, gone down, on the up again

Saints seem to have turned it around in 12 months

With the draft, salary cap, that's the way it is. Meanwhile deledio and Maric and cranking on closer to 30. Time isn't going to wait  - and slowly the premiership window closes as#TeamAfl expansion clubs reach their final form
