Lets not forget the coach . Plays favorites with players clearly not in the best 22. He may of dropped Foley for the final back in 2013 ( after Axel played 20 games during the year) - but he clearly has no idea

Dropped his mate Morris after a pretty serviceable game last week. Last I heard was Morris will never be dropped because he is one of Dimma's lovers

How times change ....I remember a time when Richmond was the joke of the AFL . Up until 2013 we had played in less final series than Fitzroy . Two finals campaigns in 31 years - seems unthinkable now.
But lets not let facts get in the way of a good old fashioned baking of players and coach." Dimmas mates"are obviously the reason why we are currently only 5th - not minor premiers.
Houli and Grigg - you came to the club the year after Richmond was described as the worst since Fitzroy. Since then the Tigers have only won 54 % of their games - not good enough boys
Chaplin - since you came to the club we have only won a paltry 63% of games .Although we havent missed the finals since you joined us - The back line is a complete shambles at the minute ...only the third tightest defence in the competition -  completely unacceptable
The best thing I have heard in 2015 is that it is Newmans final year. Thank god. I dont give a flying frig that he is responsible for the players wearing the jumper with such pride. What an imposter.

Yeah six years mate

Meanwhile; the pies and the dogs have been up, gone down, on the up again

Saints seem to have turned it around in 12 months

With the draft, salary cap, that's the way it is. Meanwhile deledio and Maric and cranking on closer to 30. Time isn't going to wait  - and slowly the premiership window closes as#TeamAfl expansion clubs reach their final form

How about we compare ourselves with other teams who were crap back in 2010.
Melbourne ? Brisbane ? Essendon are now going great.
Carlton not that long ago used to give us regular hidings.
Port couldn't make the finals 3 years in a row.
Collingwood are behaving in an old Richmond-esque manner of missing finals after looking certainties mid year.

Club is finally having sustained success - just need to start winning in September.

SEN reporting Newman was seen getting scans this morning

 :clapping

but he says he'll be fit to play.

 :facepalm

I like how, he says, he'll be fit to play as opposed to "available for selection "

His inclusion is a comical given.

Dimmers WORST and most damaging habit.

Don't disagree with anything you've posted but I'm not sure how directly it responds to the OP.
How do you think those 4 will perform in the finals?
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

True, but they sold their soul to get them. Do you realize they were a young premiership team in 2010. Came 2nd in 2011. They then sold their premiership players for draft picks. They could have snaffled another flag in that time if they had kept Mick and the players that played for him.
Sure they might win one with their top picks sometime in the future but they are a long way from that now and it is no guarantee. They could have done a Hawthorn and added to their 2010/11 stocks instead.....

Those teams u speak of have tapered off. We haven't endured sustained success,mate.
Pull your head out.
If anything, we've managed to STAY a middle of the ladder team while the others, through attempting to improve have fatltered.
We're still entering finals as a bottom four teaam and it remains to be seen if they
Can even win one final let alone all.

Can richmond tiger win the gf in 2016

Can they do it with:

 * grigg on the ground

 * ^^ Chaplin

 * Houli in the backline

 * Hampson as the #2 ruck, with the sub rule removed

Then he grabbed two chopsticks and stuck them in his mouth , pretending to be a walrus

Imo Collingwood had the guts to take a step backwards knowing the window they had was limited. Also knowing clubs like GWS and GCS would at some stage in the not too distant future  start to dominate.
Have a look at their 2010 premiership team it was never ever going to be a dynasty.They eked out a premiership with what talent they had  all credit to Malthouse, but they knew it was not going to be good enough and unlike us made hard decisions. unlike us prepared to take a couple of steps backwards to give themselves a good chance at building a possible dynasty.

Yep it is almost a certainty imo that they zoom past us next year.  Yep they showed heaps of courage in turning over a premiership side while us at richmond steadfastly persevere with blokes who will take us no further than middling.

Agreed

Reminds me of hawthorn 2003/2004

Takes some pain in the short term, to win four flags in the future
