Yeah or Neah - Sam Lloyd?
« on: October 02, 2015, 08:32:25 PM »
Next up is Sam Lloyd who is out of contract.

The 25 year old played 12 games and kicked 13 goals in his second season of AFL. These 12 matches were split into two groups across the season. Lloyd played in the first 5 rounds including kicking a bag of 3 goals against the Blues to start 2015. After losing his place in the side, he didn't return to the seniors until round 17 and played out all of the final home & away matches, including scoring another two bags of 3 goals versus the Suns and Collingwood. As we all know, he was dropped for the Elimination final.

So do we hold onto Lloyd or trade/delist him?

If we can trade for an upgrade do it otherwise keep for one more year if we can't fill the list.

Keep him and keep playing him.

Improved on some of his deficiencies this year, still has some work to go though.

Should have played him and Lennon in the EF. Both deserved their spots.

could do a lot worse than having a guy that has a knack of kicking goals

in the twos
Then he grabbed two chopsticks and stuck them in his mouth , pretending to be a walrus

Keep only as a necessity. Wouldn't get anything for him and he is solid (at best) depth for a position we have no real quality in. Handy if some of our younger ones get injured again next year

Pretty much this. Ordinary player with no trade value but still one of our better small/ mid sized forwards. Hopefully we see some improvement from Short, Lennon, Butler etc making Lloyd expendable.

I dont see it in him myself. Small forwards have to have a goal instinct. I think he will be manufactured at best. Trade and trade in someone else.  Id only keep him if there are no better options like a fit Knights type who has goal instinct.

yeah he knows where the sticks are, and is a very good kick for goal.

Maybe ive only seen his bad games but mostly when  I watched him he missed. Easy set shots too. I must have seen his 8 behinds and only 4 or 5 goals.  I saw him in one good game.  Was he dropped for injury or form?

Maybe  im emembering last year. His stats at goal look ok or maybe I turned off when he kicked straight.

Has missed some sitters for sure but he's nothing like as bad as Griffiths was this year.

I would keep this guy 100% for sure. Will cost nothing, finds the goals, and has shown improvement. Can't ask for any more from a bloke of his ability.

The match winning goal against Hawthorn . ( from the boundary)

3 goals in the opening 12 minutes against Collingwood .

Very unlucky to lose his spot in the team .

3 goals in the opening 12 minutes against Collingwood .

Actually think is his biggest issue

3 goals in 12 minutes and then we didn't see him for the rest of the game

Yes he impacts but doesn't sustain it IMHO

But no doubt he'll be a yeah
