Yeah get with the program boyz , we all know that our supporters will always call it Punt Rd but seriously if we could get $2 million (particularly upfront from John Ilhan) for a 5 year naming rights deal we MUST do it. The club cant stay in debt and getting a massive one off financial bonus would be fantastic. Im sure Steve Wright would support it, and to be honest in the end, it would be worth more than $2 million because wed be paying less on our overdraft. If for example our financing is running at 10% a year then wed automatically reduce our interest bill by $200,000 a year. MAJOR DOLLARS GENTLEMEN, MAJOR DOLLARS!

$2 million from the AFL's media rights deal without any need for gimmicks would also help clear our debts. Remember unlike the Roos, Dogs and Dees we created our own problems from being incompetent for 25 years. Now through getting our act together we've managed to attract Wallace, Miller, Wright, Browny, Simmonds and co without needing to sell our soul.

If selling the naming rights for punt road oval means we can do that, then I  for 1 am all for it, boots and all.

I don't think we had any problem attracting the right coaching staff because we seem to have the right fit for the Club now. It says on another thread we paid the smallest amount in 2005  to the footy department and I reckon we had a bloody good year considering where we came from. the Pies spent a truckload and where did they finish again.

As for keeping players. I don't think selling naming rights for the Oval is going to make much difference. The competition has a salary cap so we will always be limited in what we can pay.

If they want to put the Crazy John logo on the roof of the Dyer stand for =$500k then please go right ahead

I'll pose this question if Crazy Johns was to offer the club $1 million to wear a pink jumper with his logo on it with turquoise shorts at a home game at the MCG against the pies would you take that cash? I doubt many people would say YES.... there are some things that are just to important to mess with IMO

I just thought my minor adjustment was more fitting.
