Americans playing AFL.
« on: October 22, 2015, 12:06:46 AM »
Thought it might be interesting to hear some views on the great American experiment, bringing top class athletes from the US college systems to try and play AFL at the highest level.

My view is that it won't ever be successful with the current system in place, where playing AFL is only sprung on players at the end of their college careers, at guys who won't quite make the grade at the traditional college sports (Basketball and Grid Iron), but if these guys become introduced at younger ages it may become a viable option.

I just watched this video looking at a couple of guys coming out here and giving it a go, and whilst the actual video wasn't great, it raises a few interesting points.

“For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways my ways,” says the Lord.

“For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
So are my ways higher than your ways,
And my thoughts than your thoughts."
