It's interesting that many said he wouldn't even play this season because of his size, I didn't even think it myself yet he's taken to it like a duck to water.
Even though he often gets rag dolled in tackles he's always straight back up onto his feet.
Love this kid, I can see him doing some very special things in years to come!

If we don't change the coach he will be kicking it sideways and backwards with the best of them and all his natural flare will eventually get coached out of him into a boring robot playing the Hardwick Way.
The club that keeps giving.

It's almost time to move him to the backline

Needs to learn defensive pressure
Then he grabbed two chopsticks and stuck them in his mouth , pretending to be a walrus

Last year's No.15 selection Daniel Rioli will play in the reserves after missing the Lions game due to his grandfather's funeral.

"(Rioli's) back, but he'll play VFL. He's missed a little bit of training," Hardwick said.

"We'll push him a little bit more on-ball so he can get some more touch, get his form back up to the level that we'd like it to be.

"He was probably in OK form without being great."

Haven't seen the game yet, but Rioli looked really good from the highlights I've seen and his stats appear pretty solid. Anyone have any thoughts on his game yesterday?

Best game for the club

His 1%ers are fantastic

Indictment on his more senior team mates that he is already one of best tacklers

Best game for the club. His speed is evident at the ground. Makes good decisions and rarely panics. Once he builds his body strength, look out!
OER. Calling it as it is since 2004.

The best part is this kid will just keep getting better, when his body thickens out a bit and his strength has improved we'll have a gun.
The possibility of physical and mental collapse is now very real. No sympathy for the Devil, keep that in mind. Buy the ticket, take the ride.

best game he's played i reckon, 11disp @100% ran down a wing & kick to (i think) Dusty was a highlight & he did a brilliant spin turn handball to set Grigg up for one of his goals.

Will be far better than Dean but not quite as good as Cyril or Morris.....or taking his lineage out of the equation, a superior more rounded, tougher version of Lewis Jetta.... think we can all live with that....

When ever he gets asked about Junior and Maurice comparisons, he says he want to make his own name.
Gotta love that.

From Robbo's 'Likes' column today:

5. Daniel Rioli

IT’S the contributions from youngsters that should excite Tigers fans and they should be excited about Daniel Rioli. His calmness with the ball and goal in the last quarter, when the Dons were pressing, is the kind of experience that will propel his development. Just 11 touches, but an equal team-high five tackles. He didn’t get votes, but neither did Dustin Martin from Mark Maclure.

The pressure he brought and tackling was very good.
