Will be far better than Dean but not quite as good as Cyril or Morris.....or taking his lineage out of the equation, a superior more rounded, tougher version of Lewis Jetta.... think we can all live with that....

I thought It was the best game I've seen from Daniel. Yes only 11 disposals but 5 tackles, better outside run and lots of pressure acts. Good goal under pressure in the last qtr too.

Will be damaging in years to come when he builds up his body and tank.

His defensive pressure is insane. Or maybe it's pretty standard but I've just become accustumed to lazy footballers watching Richmond every week. Either way I'm happy.

Saying that he needs to start taking possession and beating tacklers. Seems to paddle it along too much instead of taking possession but then when he does he just gets crunched. Has plenty of time and it'll come with confidence, experience and beefing up in the gym :clapping

His goal was so good. Should have been paid a free for the tackle but followed up and produced a special effort.

Hardwick discussing Rioli's debut year:

“He’s really starting to find his feet . . . he’s been incredibly impressive.

“His GPS numbers are through the roof.  Defensively, which is one of the areas you normally have to teach a young player, he’s very, very good.

“We’re very lucky in a way that he can do these things naturally.

“His ability to win the contested ball is something we’ve been really happy with.

“We’re just trying to get him a few easier possessions along the way . . . We’re just not quite getting the reward for him on the outside.

“Once that comes, he’s going to be a really damaging player for us.

“So we’re really excited by his progression thus far.

“He’s only 11 games or so (13 in total) into his (AFL) career, but he’s going to be an exciting prospect for us going forward, especially when he gets some more training under his belt . . .  Good signs so far, and we look forward to him building on that.”

Really impressed by him. He has shown a lot and has had to put up with the adversity of a dreadful game plan.

DIMMA - You will be held ACCOUNTABLE...

“We are really excited about what we have brought in. We have got great depth of players that can take us where we need to go. We are just putting some cream on the top at the moment,” he said.

I think this kid is making some people feel like they made a very early call...

Was sensational today and will be a star for many years.

Has come from nowhere this time last year to be one of our better players.  :clapping :clapping :clapping

He has improved every game, pretty tough too like Oleg.  They have both worn everything thrown at em for first year players and not flinched.  Rioli is starting to make those little magical things work more often too.  Hope they are extending his contract too like Oleg.
