Here's the vision of Rioli's run down the wing and goal  :bow.

That's brilliant!  :bow

IIRC Lambert and Rioli tried to do something similar during the Granny last year at the exact same spot on the ground but Lambo's tap was just a fraction off Rioli and went over the line for a throw-in. They perfected it today  :clapping :thumbsup.

Great awareness from Riewoldt as well. I love that he saw Rioli coming and had full confidence he would do something with the ball.

There was a similar outstanding effort in the third quarter when one of our players chased and pressured multiple Geelong players at full speed from our half fwd line to our half back line while they strung some handballs and short kicks together. Don’t think we got any reward from it but was still an awesome effort. Think it was one of Higgins, George or cotch.

Not that anyone with any clue needed to be told but he just further underlined how important he is to our side and the gameplan....and no coincidence Castagna was better and Butler had arguably his best match for the year.... :shh

A very good game from him. It is the little things he does which are so impressive eg the taps. I agree George and Butler were much better with him being in the team. His persistence in the final quarter which led to the goal was even more impressive given the fact this was his first game back after a long period out of the game.

I unashamedly wanted Gresham but happy to admit I love what Daniel brings to the team.
Wouldn't mind both. That goal Gresham kicked to win the game against the Suns showed his class, but he still hasn't kicked 4 in a Preliminary!!

Speaking of Rioli’s, Daniel has done some spectacular stuff since getting back into the Richmond side, but he may be managed through a few games in the second half of the year.

There are ongoing concerns the foot he injured in last year’s Grand Final victory isn’t back to full strength and Dan has been pulling up far from 100% after the last couple of games.

Residual soreness happens, and in Rioli’s case it’s complicated by an injury in the same foot from his last VFL appearance a few weeks back, so the Tigers aren’t panicking but they’re determined not to risk one of their major assets in the run to finals.

The gifted small forward will keep fronting for the big games like Adelaide this week and then the Giants, but may miss the bus to Etihad Stadium in round 18.
