I reckon he is only getting a game because of his surname. Been ordinary for a while has Daniel.
He was very good last week... very good.

The beauty of our side and our smalls especially, is they are going to have quiet games but then the others cover for it.

I think we all forgot that the small forward roll is probably the hardest position to play.

Daniel has enough runs on the board to be excused for a quiet game and I bet he will make up for it next week in the GF.

He was playing well when we got the early jump after Ablett's opener but then fell away...however unlike others, even when he has a poor game, his defensive pressure rarely drops off..... :shh

I expect more from him. I want to see him hit the scoeboard more often. He doesnt kick enough goals over the course of the season. Mind you if he kicks 4 next week Ill take it all back.

Maybe we should move him around the ground at times to get him more involved.

Daniel Rioli – 7

Stats tell only half the story for Rioli who was fantastic in the forward half of the ground. His goal on the stroke of quarter-time gave the Tigers the lead and they never looked back. Matched Caddy's 25 pressure acts and his clever bounced handball to Martin for a goal in the third and contest in the goalsquare for Riewoldt's fourth typified his selfless approach. Had eight scoring involvements from his 12 disposals.

DANIEL RIOLI 7

Put up the “44” for cousin Willie Rioli when he nailed a 50m goal on the quarter-time siren that deflated GWS. September is sweeter with a Rioli rolling around.

Terrific yesterday. Kicked a big goal just in quarter time. Played a really good team game. 7.5/10

Just a good finals performer.

I'd still prefer it if he shaved his head and played like that most weeks. If he was as motivated as Castagna he'd be the best in the business.

If Castagna had as much natural talent as Rioli he'd also be the best in the business...

Richmond's 5th best forward: Daniel Rioli

He is a vital member of the two-time premiership winning forward line. May not amass a big disposal rate but his high pressure game and ability to kick crunch goals is important. The onus is on Rioli to improve his overall numbers in 2020, but he has a major impact away from the stat sheet.

Number 5 of 6 fwds. Not that important a player.
Reckon hes been average at best and the much over hyped  pressure acts  stat saves his arse. ATM imo he is quite literally your proverbial glass half full.
