I'm not sure we're te humour comes into it

Do you think we will win a flag with them two spuds?

I think we could carry Grigg. Chaplin, no probably not. Too slow to play as an effective loose and too average to be a good key defender but at the time being we have no other options. If he were younger it could be okay but he is likely to go down hill at a rate of knots. Who was it that was against getting this guy while everyone lapped it up?

Instead of being dismissive why don't you put forward a counter argument? And no, saying "Conca > Grigg" or "Grigg, chaplin = spuds" isn't good enough

Any good ones? Because just plonking Elton there is useless if you want to win the cup, let alone a final

Astbury's view of Adam Marcon:

He’s been absolutely tremendous so far. Right from the outset, we got a pretty good understanding that he’s just a quality person. As it shows, perseverance has really paid off for him and he’s really improved in a lot of facets of his game. Adam’s an extraordinary worker, a really diligent person and we love having him down at the Club. He’s going to get every opportunity this pre-season to stick his hand up for Round 1 selection.  And, so far, all that we’ve seen, we there’s no reason why he can’t. He’s been really strong throughout.

Seems to be a recurring theme here that everyone is capable of playing rd 1.

He seemed quick, good disposer and made a few smart moves. A definite prospect for the 22.

Yeah looked good, would keep him in to get used to the pace, come round one he could be primed.

He surprised me , my expectations are about as high as a scratchie ticket with this pick , so far well ahead and I'd expect would look much better with some qty around him

Marcon talking about his first hit-out in Y&B:

* It was an extremely intense game. I thought for my first hit-out I did okay with some things to work on. My role was more so through the midfield as a rover, as well as changing out on the wing.

* It’s a great experience for a lot of us younger players to come up against what has been a top-four side for a very long time now. I think we all got a lot out of the game. We learned a lot about our own game and we’re all going to be better off for the experience.

* It’s great just to be around everyone - the support staff and the coaches. You just spend that extra bit of time together. It’s great to learn off some of the older guys about when to eat, what to eat, when to go to bed, what to do during the day. So, it was definitely a great experience.

* Everything’s a little bit quicker, you’ve got a little bit less time with the ball and obviously the blokes you’re playing on are that bit better as well. Hopefully, it’s not going to take me too long to adjust. I’m extremely grateful for the experience and, hopefully, I might get another one next week.

Adam Marcon elevated to senior list and to make his debut
« Reply #43 on: July 28, 2016, 06:21:51 PM »
Richmond’s mature-age midfield recruit Adam Marcon has received a promotion from the Club’s rookie list to the senior list.

Marcon, who turned 24 today, was the Tigers’ third pick (No. 47 overall) in the AFL rookie draft held late last year.

He has maintained a high level of performance at VFL level with Richmond over the course of this season, winning plenty of ball and generating considerable drive for the team through the midfield.

He's in the side as well and will make his debut on Saturday.
