Fans excited to meet Tiger heroes

Cam Potter
Wangaratta Chronicle
February 3, 2016

RICHMOND supporters from around the North East region will have the opportunity to meet their heroes next week.

Half of the Richmond Football Club’s list will travel to Albury Wodonga as part of the Australia Post AFL Community Camp program which will see the players hold clinics, functions and seminars on Tuesday and Wednesday February 8 and 9.

The key function of the two day venture will be a sit down meal at the Commercial Club, allowing for questions from the crowd to the playing group.

The night will also feature a range of give aways and auctions.

The Tigers’ visit has excited lifetime Richmond supporters Ben Duncan and Josh Morrow from Wangaratta, who have already bought their tickets for the official function.

“I am really looking forward to rubbing shoulders with the boys and having a good feed,” Duncan said.

“It will be good to be able to ask them questions about the team and get updates on the other boys.

“I’ve been a full member for six years now and I believe this year is our year.”

Meanwhile, Morrow is keen to take a close inspection of the playing group.

“Seeing the boys up close and really having a good look at Dustin Martin’s haircut and Ivan Maric’s mullet is going to be the highlight,” Morrow said.

There's also going to be a Community Camp open training session at Punt Rd Oval on the same Wednesday, February 10, from 10am – 11am.

At the sessions, members and fans will be able to watch the players train, access player autographs, enjoy kids’ rides, face painters and activities, and purchase food and drink, merchandise and memberships.
