Major training sessions to replace Richmond Family Day
richmondfc.com.au
December 17, 2015 3:59 PM

Richmond will deliver its members and fans a vastly improved open training experience next year, with three fan-friendly upsized training sessions to replace the Club’s traditional family day.

After an analysis of recent family day events, it was determined that overcrowding, and long queues to access player autographs, had reduced fans’ engagement and enjoyment levels.

As a result, the Club will invite fans to three enhanced open training sessions in January and March – one in Beaconsfield, and two others at the Tigers’ home base at Punt Road Oval.

At the sessions, members and fans will be able to watch the players train, access player autographs, enjoy kids’ rides, face painters and activities, and purchase food and drink, merchandise and memberships.

More details about each event will be communicated in the New Year.

Family open training sessions in 2016:

Friday, January 22 – Beaconsfield (presented by Parklea)
Sunday, March 6 – Richmond Football Club
Sunday, March 20 – Richmond Football Club

January 11, 2016

The Richmond Football Club will head to the Cardinia Shire for the fourth consecutive year to hold a summer twilight training session and free kids’ clinic, thanks to Parklea Developments.

The training session will take place on Friday, January 22 at Holm Park Recreation Reserve in Beaconsfield, located in Melbourne’s outer south-east suburbs.

Following the players’ training session, Richmond fans can meet their favourite player and get an autograph. The free kids’ clinic will also take place following the training session and registrations are essential. All Richmond supporters and football fans are welcome to attend the session.

A range of free entertainment, music, food, drink, Richmond merchandise and memberships will also be available to purchase on the day.

When: Friday, January 22 from 4pm (players to train from 5pm)

Where: 150 Beaconsfield-Emerald Road, Beaconsfield (corner Holm Park Road). Entry to the reserve is off Beaconsfield-Emerald Road.

Public transport: Beaconsfield train station is 1.5km from the reserve. There are public buses that run from the station, which pass the reserve. Parking is available on site.

Why isn't this at Punt Rd?
How hard is it to arrange a freakin open training session?

Not sure what your issue is HRT?

read the very first post in this thread

Says they are doing 3 open training session instead of 1 family day

2 of the 3 said open training session will be at Punt Road in March

Because the club has deal with Parklea Developers down there. Which they seem to be committed to and prepared to honour unlike another deal they once had   :whistle

Well nice to know the club puts the rest of the fans and members second  because of a 'deal' with developers.

I wonder how much sponsor money is being paid to us. Probably a bats pee worth.

Principles......

Thanks Dooks.
It's simple, our home base is Punt Rd.
It's central, it's near a train station, it's in RICHMOND.
Leave all open training sessions at our home base.

No need to thank me, calling it as I see it. But your welcome to 'ride shotgun', as they say.

One thing which seems to have been overlooked is that there were many open training sessions at punt rd in previous years. So really, the net gain for members non-existent. In fact, I recall some years with 3 open training sessions at punt rd. And there's no doubt the big day (or iconic day, if you will) is planned for woop woopville. So it's worse for the majority of us.

Just some effwit guy's idea in an air conditioned office.

Eff em

When you get to the turnoff for Jells park, keep going.

Waverley park, nope. Half way.

Past east link.

Past Dandy north.

Past endeavour Hills.

Eummemering? 20kms to go.

Turn off for Hallam? Nope.

Narre warren nth? Nope. Oh, Narre Warren? Keep going.

Berwick? Surely...... Nope......

Keep going keep going.....

Is this the turnoff for Clyde north? Yes it's is. But head north wtf????
