Best - Cometti - funny, entertaining and can call footy, Brian Taylor for personality which i like and tends to be a bit of a stirrer.

Worst - Russell (a Cometti tryhard who fails miserably), Eddie for being Eddie, Dermott and Garry Lyon for being too scared to say anything against Collingwood or anything that upsets Eddie, Brayshaw - just can't stand him.  Memories of his brother at our club  :(

Not many i like - prefer to turn the sound down and watch the show!

Best - Cometti, Lane, Grybas

Worst - Russell, Eddie (collingwood game), Walls, Carey.

Walls and Carey character assassionate people like there's no tomorrow, and 90% of it is unjustified, also Walls is the biggest flip flopper out there, changes his opinion on a matter as often as the wind changes direction.

Best:

Cometti of the current crop by a mile.
Bruce McAveney when footy was on 7 (although his love of Andrew Macleod was a bit too much lol).
I always liked Peter Landy and Lou Richards in combo when I was a kid.

Worst:

Walls. Agree with Razor that Walls is a flip flopper. Player A will do something good and Walls will go on about how good Player A is for his side then later on the same player makes a bad mistake and Walls will go on about Player A's faults and how he always makes those errors and lets his side down.

Eddie commentating Collingwood games. Enough said :banghead.

Former Geelong players who always appear to need to have a dig at the Tigers.

BEST:

Cometti and Lane from the TV (current) and Bruce McAveney when Ch 7 had the rights - something to look forward too in 2007 I reckon  :thumbsup. I don't mind Brian Taylor - especially because he makes Gary Lyon sound like a goose  ;D Clinton Grybas isn't too bad either

From Radio - Enjoy Rex & Clinton Grybas

Special Comments: I atually like Wayne Carey because he knows what he is talking about most of the time  ;) and Bligthy because he always comes up with something out of left field

WORST:

Tim Goosage oops I meant Tim Gosage - more biased than Eddie
Michael Christian - shocker
Eddie - nuff said

Special Comments:
Steve Silvagni - states the bleeding obvious in such a painful way
Dermott & Gary Lyon - say alot without actually telling us anything  ::)
Gary Ayres - someone wake me up - better yet wake him up :sleep

Well Carey certainly didn't know what he was talking about when he said in one of our earlier games in the season that Gasper had had it, then he proceeded to towel up his opponents for the next 4-5 weeks (fox footy showed about 6 Richmond games in a row earlier on in the season, and Grybas, Healy and Carey commentated everyone) and by the end of the 4-5 week stretch Healy and Grybas were hanging Carey out to dry on every occasion in regards to Gasper!

Rex commentating poos me up the wall actually, can't stand his silly nicknames and such.

Blighty is good, but a bit like Tim Lane, intelligent, but robotic.

You always have to mix the smart guys (Cometti, Lane) with the enthusiatic guys (Grybas, Eddie) otherwise its either extremely boring or idiotic commentary.

When Eddie isn't doing a Collingwood game he can be a very good and excitable commentator.

I like Anthony Hudson and Micheal Christian the best as commentators, they are alive and vibrant.
I also like Walls and Brereton as expert commentators.

McGiure when he's not subtley bagging the opposition can be good in patches as well.
James Brayshaw is good too.

i think alot of people on here are getting confused with people that just do special comments (ie. Walls etc) and seeing them as commentors  ::)

An unpleasent upshot of football being televised on three channels, is that complete non-entities such as Silvagni get a regular gig.

Personally I used to like listening to the ABC coverage when they usually had one of Tommy Hafey or Bob Davis doing special comments. At least when they stated the bleeding obvious, it was coming from another time, and in Woofa's case a mind bordering insanity.

Depends on your definition. I would call Cometti, Lane, Eddie, etc callers while the likes of Walls, Lyon, Alves (forgot about him. One of the best IMO) do the special comments. To me they're all commentators as they comment on the game.

There's a difference between calling and commenting on a game  ;)

Worst:  Definitely Eddie, followed by Robert "when I was coaching" Walls.
