If the AFLPA and AFL fund a trip to the NFL for training, they are sending them to a place where banned substances are rife and the players cannot be tested by ASADA. Is that what they want? :gobdrop

Stokes, Kelly, Crowley.

Midfield will be competitive at least.

Need to see what they bring to the bookends though.

Honestly they shouldn't be allowed to have top-up players/remain competitive. Not fair to the rest of the AFL clubs...

I agree Andy but as if the afl were ever going to key it incapacitate "the money" totally.
It's as though all this rubbish time wasting was a smoke wall so that nobody would question the "top up" ruling.
I'm sure if we checked all rules regarding free agency and teams who found themselves in the position Essendon has, it would be once again ILEGAL !

Why is this top-up scheme suddenly all about making Effendung competitive?  They have already benefitted greatly from 3 years of protection & delaying tactics after being suspiciously ultra competitive thanks to their cynical, clinical & systematic PED cheating!!  They don't deserve the chance to be competitive! 
Who cares if this filthy lying scumbag of a club can't win games with VFL players?
