March 30, 2016Richmond star Brett Deledio remains unlikely to play against Collingwood on Friday night, despite returning to training.
Teammate Sam Lloyd said the utility, who has been suffering from a quad muscle injury, was back to running.
"He said he's feeling good, so it's up to the docs and the medical staff whether or not he play now, I think," he said.
But coach Damian Hardwick has previously said he would take no risks with Deledio.
And a club spokesman on Tuesday said he was not likely to play in round two, but staff would make a final decision after the team trained on Thursday.
Richmond's win against Carlton in round one was no surprise, but the scare the 2015 wooden spooners gave the Tigers would have given coaching staff some cause for concern
Lloyd said the Tigers did not play as well as they would have liked against the Blues and would work on applying more pressure to their opponents when the ball was in a contest.
The Tigers are likely to face a sterner test against Collingwood on Friday night at the MCG, although the Pies had a shocker in round one, losing to a dominant Sydney by 80 points.
"It was good to fight back in that second half and really start focusing on the contested ball, and sort of a get a bit of a run-on in that last quarter and get a win," Lloyd said.
The 26-year-old said he was feeling confident after being selected to play in round one.
"Pre-season's all about fighting for spots really, because everyone's healthy, everyone's right to go or most people are," he said.
