You say that as if you expect him to be an improvement over Hammer, WP.

Ivan played, what?  A half a practice match?  Where he looked mighty well cooked.

I hope I'm surprised by his resurrection.

Yep he cant really jump much

But around the ground he is a massive improvement om what we had the first 2 rounds.

He can take a contested mark amd he can kick a goal

But most of all we need his lesdership and that's a good enough reason tp bring him in

In the Mix - Round 3

Nathan Schmook

RICHMOND

The Tigers will be bolstered by important half-forward Shane Edwards this week after he recovered from minor hand surgery.

Ruckman Ivan Maric (back) should also return for his first game this season if he can get through training this week without any setbacks.

Richmond's backline depth will further be tested by the absence of Dylan Grimes (hamstring), but experienced defenders Troy Chaplin and Jake Batchelor are both waiting in the wings after finding themselves on the outer this season. Key defender Chaplin has been an emergency in the first two rounds and could get his chance.

As has hard-bodied on-baller Andrew Moore, who would be an in-form option if Damien Hardwick swings the axe in the midfield.

Edwards back but Lids and Ivan still missing for Tigers

AFL.com.au
7 April 2016

STAR Richmond forward Shane Edwards has recovered from hand surgery and will line up for the Tigers against Adelaide on Saturday.

Edwards broke a bone in his hand in the round-one win over Carlton and missed last week's one-point loss to Collingwood.

It is some relief for the Tigers who are dealing multiple injury concerns. Brett Deledio (quad) is still unavailable and big man Ivan Maric (back) is still under a cloud.

With versatile defender Dylan Grimes also sidelined for two weeks with a hamstring injury, the Tigers could look to small defender Steven Morris or key-position player Troy Chaplin this week.

Backman Jake Batchelor is also waiting in the wings as the Tigers plot a way to shut down Eddie Betts, who booted five goals against Port Adelaide in round two, and the Crows' dangerous tall timber (Josh Jenkins, Taylor Walker and Tom Lynch).

Hardwick confirmed important half-forward Edwards would return after missing one match, but was less convincing on ruckman Maric.

"We'll see how he goes with training," Hardwick said of Maric, who has battled a back injury.

"He hasn't played a lot of footy over the first five or six weeks with NAB Challenge, so we'll see how we go.

The coach said Deledio had not progressed with his recovery from a quadricep injury this week and was still only able to kick with a children's size football.
