ADELAIDE has suffered an injury blow ahead of Saturday's clash against Richmond at Etihad Stadium, with emerging midfielder Brad Crouch withdrawn from its squad with hamstring soreness.

Midfielder Jarryd Lyons, who had 26 disposals and 10 clearances in a best afield display in the SANFL last weekend, comes into the side to replace Crouch.

Not confident at all. Overall have a poor record against Adelaide. Would feel more confident if playing at MCG. Do not have a great record at Etihad. Really need Maric in the side if not Hampson will be thrashed in the ruck. Hope the blow torch on the team in the media this week produces a positive response from the team.

We've actually won 4 of the last 5 against the Crows.
That said, our first 2 weeks would only beat the bottom 4 teams.

Won 3 of the last 5 matches. Overall record is very poor against them.

LAST FIVE TIMES
R19, 2015, Adelaide 11.22 (88) d Richmond 8.4 (52) at Adelaide Oval
R21, 2014, Richmond 10.19 (79) d Adelaide 9.15 (69) at Adelaide Oval
R12, 2013, Richmond 16.14 (110) d Adelaide 10.12 (72) at the MCG
R14, 2012, Adelaide 17.4 (106) d Richmond 13.9 (87) at AAMI Stadium
R23, 2011, Richmond 17.19 (121) d Adelaide 15.9 (99) at AAMI Stadium

Stand corrected  :thumbsup
Although I'm not sure how winning 3 of the past 5 is a poor record  :huh
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

Richo’s fear as Tigers face Crows' Monsters Inc (Adel. Advertiser)

Richo’s fear as Tigers face Monsters Inc

Adelaide Advertiser
9 April 2016

Richardson lauded the bona fides of a Crows forward line boasting behemoths Walker, Josh Jenkins, Tom Lynch and mercurial Eddie Betts.

“The Crows are playing really good footy and fast starters, can blow you out of the water in 15 minutes,” said Richardson of the clash to be telecast on Channel 7 from 1.30pm on Saturday.

“Their forward line is just about the best in the competition with two big key position players in Jenkins and Walker with great workrate. Tommy Lynch is the best third tall in the competition. You also have the best crumber in the competition (Betts).

“Richmond must pressure in the middle, if Adelaide gets quick footy you can’t beat that forward line.”

Adelaide focused on team defence and precision disposal in its first pre-season under Pyke. Vaunted analyst and West Coast premiership on-baller Pyke is pushing the right buttons says Richardson.

“When a team is playing exciting, fast scoring footy that always tells me the coach is giving them freedom to play their own game. Any guy will tell you they love to play on instinct as long as you stick to team structures and rules and he has obviously got them doing that.”

Adelaide’s only weakness in a 58-point Showdown 40 triumph against Port Adelaide was a -15 inside-50 discrepancy. Dual Coleman Medallist Jack Riewoldt is the man to exploit any advantage.

“That is one area I am sure Don Pyke wouldn’t be happy with. Eventually a forward line will rip you apart if you are conceding too many,” said Richardson.

Only one of Tigers or Crows will make finals: Wallace (SEN)

Tigers or Crows make finals: Wallace

Joshua Papanikolaou
SEN
08 Apr 2016, 05:37PM

Richmond will play Adelaide on Saturday at Etihad Stadium and only one of those teams will play finals football this year making the contest vitally important, according to Terry Wallace.

Both have one win from the first two games of the season but he is tipping the Crows to get the four points after a close game against North Melbourne followed by a Showdown demolition of Port Adelaide.

“I can’t see both of these sides getting inside the top eight and if they don’t both make it in this is a critical game, one of the two sides is going to be a game clear,” said Wallace on SEN radio.

“We talk about teams’ depth at times, when you go through their last five or six years at the national draft – you’ve got to get results out of your first picks and I’m just not sure the Tigers are getting enough.

“When you have a look at Richmond has recorded an efficiency of 68 per cent from around ground stoppages – that ranks 18th and that’s what Jacobs’ bread and butter is.

“If Talia stops Jack Riewoldt then danger, but Jack is the type of player that could cause him problems… it will be interesting to see how that plays out.

“Then they’re really reliant on Vickery doing a job.”

Grabbing some Mexican for an early lunch then heading to the game. Gives me a good excuse to leave at 3/4 time if ive got the squirts and we are getting pounded by 10+ goals.

On form, availability and that our 'home' game is at Etihad which favours Adelaide ::), the Crows should win easily  :P. However, it would be so Richmond to win a game like this when the pressure of expectation is off us and we're the written-off underdog. We'll either get flogged by 8-10 goals or grind out a narrow win  :-\.
