Anyone see Rance give it to Houli when Betts (from memory) kicked that goal in the 3rd quarter? Rance actually grabbed his jumper and gave him a shove. Houli stopped and argued for about 20 seconds. Rance was fuming and wanted to kill him but had to walk away before it escalated.

Funny that he was actually Rances man but he lost him as Rance got sucked into the contest. Houli should have done better but he was still covering Rances ass as it was

That's all fine and dandy when he usually helps his teammates but in that situation he simply got sucked half way into the contest and didn't even influence it. That is football 101 for a backman. Stick to your man or influence the contest. Not get caught half way between both. Not sure how that is hard to comprehend?

On him expecting some help? I did state that Houli should have done better

Who would even know who is on who in our backline. They all seem to have a different opponent after every goal. There is next to no accountability at all. Rance was on Betts at times (which is just plain stupid but that's another story) but so was Houli. But I'm tipping when it comes to defending and playing on an opponent, my man Rance knows a little more about it. For him to be so "strong" at Houli tells me he didn't do the team thing....but what would I know, I was about 10 beers in by that stage.

I had a feeling Rance was on him at this time and checking the replay confirms it for me. Agree with Rance knowing more and Houli let him down. Not sure how many times Rance has probably helped him out and that's what Rance needed at that point in time. As I've said before, even during his form slump, if they played to Rance's level we'd win a lot more than we lose.

Saying that, I know Judge is a major apologist when it comes to our star players. In his eyes they have no faults and deserve no criticism

Do our players play for each other?

No if you are on the outer

Do our players play for each other?

Yes if you are on the inner.

Trouble is they have no skills which have been evident to date

Rance has become such a good defender because he is prepared to assist team mates by double teaming opponents. This distinguishes him from other members of the backline. The defence were under the pump against Adelaide because of our woeful disposal. If our disposal improved Rance would less and less be put in a such a position as he found himself in on that day

“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.
