Make Your Predictions: 2005 Draftees!
« on: November 26, 2005, 06:21:44 PM »
Time to make your predictions on how you think our draftees will fare in 2006!

Pick 8 - Jarryd Oakley-Nicholls
Pick 24 - Cleve Hughes
Pick 40 - Travis Casserley

Jarryd Oakley-Nicholls - Will compete in the pre-season and do pretty well, showing up his electric pace and skill but will struggle in his 1st season of AFL due to his skinny frame, will play better for Richmond then he will for Coburg.

Cleve Hughes - Will show good signs in the pre-season and in his 1st season playing for Coburg, will play a handful of senior games.

Travis Casserley - Won't get much of a go in the Wiz Cup, will end up getting demoted to Coburg Reserves by mid-season, but will have a strong second half to the season, pushing for senior selection but won't get called up.

Jarryd Oakley-Nicholls - It'll be interesting to see if we alter his training regime slightly after what happened to Tambling early on with his hamstrings under the heavy workload of AFL. If Jarrad (nickname?) comes through that unscathed I'd reckon he'll play in the NAB Cup then probably score about 6 games during the H/A season.

Cleve Hughes - Talls take longer to develop unless they're of Riewoldt's class so I wouldn't be surprised if he has a similar year to what Patto had this year. One NAB Cup game probably off the extended bench, do some promising things at Coburg then earn a couple of senior appearances with Richmond.

Travis Casserley - One NAB Cup game probably off the extended bench. Rest of the season at Coburg. If he progresses better than expected he may crack a senior game late on in the year.

Im actually more positive for the kids we drafted

Jarrod Oakley Nicholls- I would expect would get a taste of AFL footy maybe early in the season...and again late in the season...up to 6 games in seniors.

Cleve Hughes- Im hoping he has a great pre season, I'd like him to play  between 8-12 senior games, probably of a half back flank or 3rd Tall forward- FPocket in his first season.

Travis Casserley- I think he'll get some games, playing of half back I see Plough giving him about 8-10 games this season.
