Taylor Hunt has kept Zarharakas to 9 possessions in the second half since being moved onto him.... :clapping

Did what we had to only just, switched off on a number of occasions. Will get smashed by the Roos next week if we play like that, really need to keep attacking when in front, feel the Richmond way is to protect a lead and we simply dont have thw talent to execute it.

Morris was v good tonight. He's a whipping boy but hes been good since he was moved to the backline - his last 4 weeks have been solid.. tonight was nigh on the best game hes played  since season 1, took several intercept marks and cant recall him giving away any unforced error freekicks or clangers which is probably a first.

Thought Astbury played his best game for us this year. Still a little slow to move the ball along but marked very well.
OER. Calling it as it is since 2004.

I have come to the realisation tonight that Essendon's version of the grog squad have become the most average bunch of supporters in the league. They are offensive and completely out of line to the point they need to be reported to the AFL.
They need to be investigated for their offensive songs and chants.

Unbelievable that people pay good money to see such crap.

What a plethora of horrid footballers on both sides.

Geez, if playing the Roos we would be 10 goals down. Our lack of execution is terrible at times. Even on a turnover we cant string decent posessions together. We as usual against weaker sides have clocked off. No killer instinct and the usual laziness and clumsiness creeping in. Deserve a spray at halftime for that lack of effort.

Ive said this so many times in the past - we are a stuffing dumb footy side. The amount of times we give away stupid freekicks when we have a 2 on 1 is astounding. just astounding.

I was so expecting this pea heart last quarter and yet again the guys havent let me down, so typical Richmond.
Agree to all the above.

We tried to play unaccountable bruise free footy using the minimum required 'effort' to get the win. If it was a once in a blue moon slack-off you'd ignore it. However, it's a costly recurring theme year after year for us and reflects our inability to stay mentally focused and put 4 quarters of AFL standard footy together on a regular basis. Even last year when we won 15 games, we were lucky to have 2-3 four quarter efforts. It's not good enough. Coming out of the 3/4 time huddle switched off for the last quarter was no different to how we came out after halftime in the Elimination Final and froze in the 3rd quarter which cost us the final. The same can be said about allowing the Bombers the last two goals of the 2nd quarter through our own stupidity. Our laziness and mental frailties on display once again  :help.

We'll take the 4 points but that's all we'll get out of the game. If we get flogged next week then it'll show this win to be nothing but fool's gold. Only a win next week against a top side can make-up for a such an undisciplined, lazy and fundamentally sub-standard performance last night.
