Astbury?  :huh3

Last chance? Others views welcome

You think astbury is more rubbish than chaplin?

Yep

Huge call. Weight of evidence against you on this one. Nahas goal against Chaplin being a prime example.

Yes Astbury needs to give a huge performance & grasp the chances that he is quickly running out.

l'm very happy with the In's & out's.  Menudue was showing cracks in his braveness. Chaplin just out of sorts (Injury is a cover) Someone had to make way for C. Ellis & Rioli so this week the selectors have done well & there is no excuses why this side can't win by 100 points

Not really  ;D

Take the Nahas goal out the equation  (yep it was awful but I'm looking at an entire career) and still think Chaplin offers more than Astbury

Time has caught up woth Chaplin no doubt not that he was ever quick but reckon he is faster than Astbury. And certainly has more footy smarts, Astbury appears to have zero smarts, he the perfect example of momentum killer

That late first rounder for Astbury would have been an absolute coup.

What a shame. I agree, Chaplin for mine.

Astbury maybe slow but he is hard to beat one on one unlike Chaplin. Astbury in his good season beat Brown and Cloke(at this prime). Chaplin has never claimed a big name. That mistake against Nahas effectively cost us the game. It was made by one of the most senior players in the team and is the ultimate example of how to lose a game for your side

Wonder if Elton would have got a go if he wasn't injured (doubtful)

He's named in the VFL this week

I thought he was 1 week on the injury list? I must be mistaken

bottom line

Astbury SUCKS

takes 10 minutes to decide what to do with the ball

only a seriously good tosser would consider him to be a worthy afl player....

"Better than Chaplin" doesn't necessarily equate with "worthy AFL player".....

Chaplin isnt great but is (has been) definitely a better player than Astbury and was part of one of the best defensive units in the comp last year...jump up and down as much as u like but facts are facts

the point regarding this weeks team is that considering our opponent, Broad should have been included ahead of Astbury...McBean ahead of Vickery...but that is another matter

there are definite question marks over Astbury and if he does not improve he will be traded or delisted. Will have to agree to disagree about Chaplin being a better player than Astbury. The facts do not support your contention. Rance and Grimes principally made our defence last year. Furthermore as other posters have already alluded to there is a real possibility this maybe a futile argument as both may be gone by season's end.

Certainly would have been

And Astbury was silly not take a guaranteed 3 year deal

Jack Riewoldt had a light training session on Friday but Edwards suggested the key forward would be right to face the Bombers.

"He's fine. He's probably just carrying on a little bit," he said.
